Call for Feedback from Destiny 2 Team

Hey Guardians, We've just created a new account here to enable us to post here on the forums more. We will be talking about this Destiny 2 Team account and others on 3rd party platforms in the TWAB shortly. For our inaugural post we wanted to create a thread to gather up some of your top priorities for changes you want to see in the game. Comment below with your feedback. Share whatever you like, just keep it civil and concise so we can read through as many as possible.

    My 5 biggest major changes would be: 1. Dedicated servers 2. Less Grindy & Updated Leveling system 3. Character creator 4. More Meaningful Rewards For Playing 5. Banning Cheats Permanently

    • -I want to be able to just play Control. I heavily dislike playing Clash as they play much different than Control matches. I'm certain there are Clash players that just as desperately want to just play Clash. -Perhaps during the matchmaking process, players could have an option to prefer certain game modes I.E lean Control or Clash. -I don't mind playing a Clash match every once in a while, but absolutely loathe having to play two or three in a row. -Give lobbies the option to vote on maps.

    • Weapon / Armor focusing for Prime Engrams. If the Prime Engram is the same light level as my Titan marks, I do not want another one. Let me choose what it will be. At the very least, allow us to choose between either a weapon or armor.

    • I had another thought that could help a lot, Destiny PTB. • is a separate game download • occurs at the end of a season after story is concluded and closed otherwise unless emergency testing is needed • the farm is the “social space” • rotate sunset zones and associated strikes as content setting • have one crucible map available to test PvP changes and limit it to rumble, clash, or control per test cycle • have cookie cuter guardians available to play • weapons/ archetypes that need testing are available in the vault for players to select from to emulate the actual ecosystem of the game • do similar things with mods and subclass availability • nothing done applies to the main games content after playing • everything that is being tested is available at start and drops aren’t needed, and once a player signs out no changes to the cookie cutter guardian is saved • the ultimate goal is this could be an open sandbox to test proposed changes with no strings attached • unfortunately I would not test things like Strand or seasonal activity weapons ( scythe, and spear) as they are too much of a bomb shell to test before launch but once content has shipped it’s open season for testing ( I would have considered 3.0 reworks as fair testing materials) I know that this would take a lot of work to set up but once done this will allow you all to make use of old content and test uncertain changes and ideas out in the wild without effecting the live game.

    • Better rewarding bounties like we had in D1.In D1 there is a vendor called the crucible quatermaster that sells bounties that reward you with a weapon for gatting kills with that same weapon type,For example get 50 kills in pvp with a pulse rifle and the bounty would reward you with a random rolled pvp pulse rifle.I think bounties like this would be great.Strike specific loot in vanguard ops playlist would be nice.larger loot pools for pvp,gambit and vanguard ops(other than the past seasonal weapons that we can still get) would be nice too especially since pvp and gambit have engram focusing.More gambit maps please🙂.

    • Finnest Matterweave is an outdated currency that just takes up a slot. It's also annoying to stop what I'm doing to pop another. Instead of giving a finest matterweave when dismantling an item just give the core. Also if you decide to remove them at some point, please convert people's finest matterweave into cores, don't just remove them.

        • Learn from Diablo II and Diablo III for example on the category looter. In those games everything item wise stays in the game regardless of season. Meaning everything gear sets and weapons can be collected by anyone that wishes so. Only thing that differs from that is the stat rolls on the said items. Personally I think it's stupid to take away weapons and gear sets from the opportunity to be even collected. PvP: Every piece of equipment should be available. Randomised drops post match aside from the new equipment. Same for Trials of Osiris equipment. PvE: equipment obtainable when a season releases them should be available in later seasons. Few tips: Make PvP dedicated servers with SBMM. Yes Dedicated servers! Maybe try fixed loadouts weapon wise for competitive/trials. Trials of Osiris shaders post match . The ones from D1. All black with gold and Black with silver. Full gold. Full silver.

          Can you please bring back past season activities like the override activity from season of the splicers or the forge activity from season of the forge maybe do a monthly rotation in the legend icon because it could be nice for new and old players to play their favorite activities like vex invasion or vex offensive or the sundial but it’s just a idea Thanks for reading this Edit:It can also be a good way to bring back sunset weapons like season of dawn or season of the undying and also since the vex invasion was a public event I think it should be a normal public event now and maybe it could be on Nessus

          • How about more kinetick and stasis primaries rolling with adaptive munitions. More legendary shards earned by having available in the vendors when ranking them up. Be able to put a beard or mustache on my chaarachers, as well as being able to change between exo, awoken, human, male or female. Speed up the attunement progress when using red border weapons. We need adept armour that gives you bonus stats when masterworking it. Just like how adept weapons are. Facial expressions on my character lol.

            • Class balance especially in pvp. I think today's twab addressed it a small amount but I think there is still more that needs to be done. An exotic armor overhaul to address useless and outdated exotics. Especially to make sure they tie on with 3.0 changes. Connection issues need to be addressed. The seasonal reptitive needs to change. Repeating the same contest over and over needs to change. I know this one takes time. I would love to see the warlock rift get some changes / tweaks. I feel it has been a long time since it's ever had some love. Faster deployment, a small chunk of health on deployment along those lines. This would make it much more competitive in pvp.

            • Add all destiny1+2 pvp maps back. Add a voting system before every match . Freelance for all pvp mode. If you put some player in a mid-match, reward him a big special bonus, so the player have a reason to stay.

            • Fix the servers. With the disaster this game has been going thru for around a month should have told you that. There is no reason for this issue at this age of the game. The issues with the error codes(on game side) and the ridiculous lag in pvp should not happen like it does. You continue to get money from every player its time to fix this problem!

            • Can you add VERTICAL look & ads SENSITIVITIES to the settings, please (specifically for console players). It would really help us to have separate settings for VERTICAL sensitivities and separate settings for HORIZONTAL sensitivities. Right now… the settings for horizontal sensitivities are fine on consoles but what’s missing completely are the settings for vertical look & ADS sensitivities.

            • Address visual cross hair recoil on console and controller to visually not move, bounce, shake as much, visually on mnk the recoil of the cross hair is a laser beam on controller it bounces and shakes way too much.. I'm not saying mnk players are not compensating for recoil I'm saying visually there is no cross hair shake,bounce. Also why is stability necessary on controller and not on mnk, that makes two different metas, how could there ever be PC n console cross play with different metas depending on input.

              Dawnblade being a tier 5 super makes no sense given its current power, especially when compared to other roaming supers, (arc staff, winter's wrath, sentinel shield, nova warp, etc) I think it needs to be reduced to a tier 3 or 4 so that it can be a viable use over well in situations other than mayhem, or it needs a longer duration (increase the total possible projectiles to 10-12 from only 7) Similar situation with phoenix dive, a downward movement option and a burst of healing are not worth a 1:22 base cooldown especially when your class ability energy can be completely expended without the full benefit if you die before you land. If the possibility of consuming your grenade for enhanced benefits is why this class ability is considered on-par with healing and empowering rift then that's complete bogus because you need to [i]consume another ability for those benefits[/i]. I think phoenix dive should have a cooldown similar to titan's towering barricade or hunter's gambler's dodge, or it needs to add restoration x 1 at base and give it an increased duration of restoration x 2 when heat rises is active (and also not consume the ability if you die before you land). Celestial Fire is very inconsistent with sunbracers in pve, about 40% of the time, your celestial fire kills won't trigger sunbracers at all and now you're down a melee and don't have any grenade energy. On a less "nitpicky/complainy" note, I would love to see a warlock exotic armor piece that lets you synergize ticcuu's divination with solar 3.0 I.E Make it so all of your scorch sources last longer, don't deal damage over time, and are considered "sacred flames" along with allowing you to apply sacred flames to your teammates and being able to give them cure (scaling with your paracausal arrow stakcs) when you detonate their sacred flames. Edit: some clarification from the buildcrafting post regarding warminnd cells would be appreciated, Are warmind cells as a mechanic getting removed, or only the mods that affect the cells?

                please buff Daybreak super for solar warlocks. as of now, it is the hands down worst super in the game, and i would just like it to have any niche. ive thought about it, and here are some ways to make it better to use at your discretion. -lower cooldown to be on par with other roaming supers. (around 8 to 9 minutes) -allow it to scorch intrinsically -remove the wave of fire on the ground and replace it with an eruption on contact with an enemy(maybe too strong) -(BIG ONE)Icarus dashing no longer consumes extra super energy -(ALSO BIG ONE)the damage each projectile does is not worth the super cost. lower the cost to swing the sword OR increase the raw damage each projectile does. -increase super duration on kill like old bottom tree i know the teams are probably really busy with Strand,and have no time for it now, but i just really want this super to be good again. maybe we can get a buff in a future season. thanks a bunch! (also give ornaments to Dawn Chorus and Starfire Protocol they ugly as sin)

              • Sandbox changes are nice but the quality of the game is suffering due to poor networking and back end performance. It’s past time to fully host the game and improve its reliability.

                This is pvp on pc mostly Citans… needs a much longer cool down Bubble in capture modes is broken… it needs to be on a longer cool down Titans having movement with no cool down is broken… sheild bash needs to take the charge Controllers can have a little too much aim assist on pc I could do with being toned down … snipers and sidearms Warlocks need something add back double icarus dash maybe

                  A suggestion for mobility rework Keep everything how it is now and add to it a % of max sprint speed at 80, 90 and 100 mobility. This does not work with movement exotics. Stompees, dunes ,transverse sprint speed. Tie stompees to triple jump, it's strafe jump that makes them nutty.. Give us a way to be fast and use other exotics. Also remove bonus melee lunge on exotics, give em more damage or something, it causes rubber banding.

If this isn’t possible, a future post explaining why would be greatly appreciated. 2, [b]Transmog is too restrictive[/b] - money should not dictate freedom to express and identify with your in-game avatar. There has been some great documentation on how online personas have helped support IRL identity struggles, ethically the potential impact this can have shouldn’t come at a premium. 3, [b]Core playlists increase burnout[/b] - without consistent appropriate refreshes (new strikes/maps and modes) whilst there being an emphasis on long-form engagement, will progressively contribute to player burnout more and more over time.
