Are the crouch spammers using third party devices?
I keep seeing some people spamming crouch in gunfights at a rate far faster than would normally be possible by actually tapping the button, all while hitting every headshot and taking fire.
This leads me to believe its a macro which would seem to indicate the use of a third party device.
Am I way off? Seems like even Streamers are starting to call out these users so wondering if this is what I'm seeing.

They probably have those controller worth back pedals. Wouldn’t necessarily call those 3rd parties since the Xbox has the Xbox elite controller and Sony just released something similar.

Back buttons.. In custom controller settings make a second crouch bind and set it to left d pad. Bind left d pad to back batton of your choice.. Spam away.... Not cheating... Sony controller

Not always , some people have a scuff. I do it with a regular controller, I just take my thumb off the right stick when I'm lined up .

Cheat devices are pretty common these days but crouch spamming doesn’t really do much in destiny aside from a sniper going for your head. Aim assist is very generous and if you’re aiming around neck height as you should already be doing, crouching does literally nothing

The fact people actually think that helps in PVP amazes me it's like how a Warlock can think Jumping in PVE content is safer than the floor as literally all the ads shoot them

Spamming crouch so much I can still hit my head shots. Its almost as funny as waiting for a hunter to stop bouncing to land a perfectly executed fusion shot.

I find it funny they remind me of chickens. Pulses with headseeker counter this kind of playstyle rather effectively and other weapons with high AA or exotics such as Jade Rabbit make short work of these funny cluckers.

This is easily done on keyboard or with a controller with back paddles/buttons. You can even do it on a regular controller pretty easily if you play claw. Could it be third party? Yeah, it's possible, but most of the time it's probably just someone spamming a key with toggle crouch on.

It's turning off toggle crouch. I don't like it but I do it sometimes if the enemy team is that unbearable.

Turning off toggle crouch makes crouch spamming way faster. It also makes it less effective since the opponent doesn’t need to even adjust their aim to keep hitting the crouch spammer. Just throw in one or two crouches mid fight to win. No need to spam.

7 RepliesYes. You can ignore most of these people who haven’t actually seen what you’re describing in the console environments. Yes— that ultra fast crouch spam is a player using a 3rd party device that allows K+M on console. What you’re seeing isn’t actually possible with the guts and inputs of a controller. Cause even if you input that fast the controller doesn’t register it with the game. It’s a cheater and you should report them.

I can crouch spam on a normal default controller by setting hold crouch to right stick.

I’d say for some of them like what you described yeah otherwise there’s a lot of lag. You die when you feel two hits from a crappy weapon and you empty clips into them and they don’t die. I’ve seen players do what you described and also hitting sniper shots while they’re sliding out from cover etc… there’s a lot of players using modded controllers on console that basically aimbot. People will get on here and say that’s bs but I’ve talked to a lot of players that use them or have friends hat do and tell me it’s not hard if you know what your doing. I wish they could ban all those players because it’s supposed to be about skill not using all this other crap.

I think thats so funny when they do that lol. I suck at pvp but when im in a gun fight with one, i end up with the kill. I know what they're trying to achieve but just my experience, its a kill for me lol. The up and down doesn't throw me off, but the dang side to side and i get smashed lol. Haven't figured that one out yet.

It’s usually hold to crouch. If you’re standing still while doing it, it looks really slow.. pretty much standard. But when you start strafing it looks like you’re head banging at the speed of light. Toggle crouch you have to send 2 inputs to crouch and stand up.

Have you used huckleberry??? It’s quite jumpy when spamming so I want to know how this dude was sliding, jumping, very fast crouch stand crouch stand and never miss a head shot?!? Even from 25 meters.. No recoil and insane range and pin point accuracy. Am also seeing new lights just killing it with cloud stike quick scoping. It’s as if something has happened and all of a sudden my aim and shots just can’t compete with these head shot killing gods. 🤔
