Streamer/Youtuber: AWW LOOK AT THIS GUN! This gun is gonna be meta I can feel it just look at it! What you want is to go for these rolls and you'll have a monster in PvP/PvE content this gun is gonna be so good! Honestly everyone should be able to go get it, so go do it!
Community: Thanks mister streamer/youtuber! We'll go do that!
Same Streamer/Youtuber: Guys we need to have a talk... that gun I told you to get? I can see it being a problem cause everyone has it... maybe not everyone should have it cause it is everywhere now and it's too good.
Community: ... but you told us to go get it... you said we should...
-Repeat every time a new weapon comes out-
Why is it annoying? Cause we see this cycle constantly... content creators hype a gun up, tell everyone to get it... and gets mad when too many have it... but also want to promote that everyone SHOULD be able to get it, but still get upset when that happens.
I can't be the only one who finds this cycle annoying to constantly see happen.
Like, make up your mind, should the good loot be accessible to all or only the rich get richer?

I see them as a tool used by the franchise to keep the interest in the game. Some of them are good guns, but many are just so so. The minute people start having fun with something it gets nerfed. I have 300+ weapons but only use a choice few, most have voltshot, headstone or incandescent with demolitionist , destabilizing rounds ... God rolls by whose standards, my god roll is for my style of play. Best to use what works best for you

It's almost like they're moneygrubbing shills with zero integrity looking for their next click bait video 🤔

3 RepliesEdited by Blueberry Bot: 3/29/2023 12:21:04 PMReal -blam!- it’s all the same mass produced low effort high engagement content. Game is in bad state, bungie saved game X is op go get X is op please nerf Here’s what xur has this week… surprise it’s the same -blam!- he’s sold for 5 years now However I weep a single man tear for the content creators as making content for this game now a days must be like bleeding a rock.

2 RepliesI have BEEN saying this for years!! But their puppets come here and defend them and say stupid sh!+ like “ they are reliving rent free in your head” which is the dumbest thin and the best their feeble little adolescent minds can come up with to defend them because they know we are right. Don’t believe me. Watch at the responses to this post. They are so precious at that age. They think they sound intelligent by saying this. Watch. And here we go…….

F those people. Can't stand the thought of them...

12 RepliesThe real issue is that people are letting a streamer dictate what weapons they use

9 Replies"content creators" aka people who can't get real jobs, are the physical embodiment of what cancer is, to the gaming industry. they go hand-in-hand with microtransactions. literal scum of the earth.
-
2 Replies99% of the time the weapons are garbage but its clickbate content for streamers, and in return its free advertising/promotional content for bungie. best to just get the weapon test it out for your self, light gg is a good source weapon info
-
1 ReplyThat's pretty much what "content creation" is. There's no actual content creation involved. (cutting a video capture and voicing over it doesn't count. Make me some animation, and we can start to talk...) It's just an opinion piece for people who can't read in-game descriptions and apply it to the game they're playing.

Listen, people need to understand... streamers/tubers are apart of the community, much like vending machines in your school or apartment lobby. They act like they're on your side... when was the last time you saw a content creator help someone that didn't enrich themselves. They'll do a charity drive sure... but if a sub's mom has cancer... that sub may have spent thousands on donations and subscriptions for that streamer, they won't even talk about it, let alone help. I'm not saying they're evil. I'm not saying that. I'm saying, in regards, to the destiny community "they're vending machines". And they'll use any gimmick they can so that they can sell you stuff, directly and indirectly. Like a vending machine... a ham sandwich that doesn't need to be refrigerated, they don't care about the community... otherwise they wouldn't be selling you a non-perishable ham sandwich. That's why allowing content creators as a vehicle for marketing is such a double-edged sword. That's why Nintendo restricts it so much.

No one is mad that too many people have the guns, they are mad because they are so much better than every other option. If you are playing people using SMGs, you aren’t gonna win unless your are using one, unless you are MUCH better than them. If we think about Not Forgotten, another gun that broke the meta (Granted nothing was balanced well at the time), people wanted it nerfed. That was probably one of the hardest guns to get for most people, only good players and people who payed for recovs had it. Everyone acknowledged that the guns weren’t fair, and people wanted them nerfed. It isn’t about only having some people have the best guns, it’s a problem about the best guns being too strong. People make videos on the guns because they want money lol, you can’t fault them for that. If a guns ruins the small amount of balance we have at times, most of the people who actually care about pvp want it to be brought back in line. A large amount of the people who have a problem with weapons being nerfed in this way are the people who aren’t playing PvP as their main thing they do in Destiny.

Assuming this is in reference to immortal. I don’t need to repeat what everyone else has said but yeah that just how they work when it comes to content. The thing about immortal is just how good it is when ikelos was already super annoying and it’s the same archetype. Just bad balancing on the dev team.

These are Bungie marketing people, thry pay for nothing, play all day, and guide the fame as Bungie don't know how to do it, stop watching these idiots, thry are destroying this game and community
-
They need views for income and need content that’ll entice people to click on the video, if it’s good or accurate content is a mixed bag. Content can be good or informative to a point, but once you’ve gained enough knowledge about the game, it’s more fun to figure it out yourself and draw your own conclusions and opinions. Unfortunately, content creators make up less than 1% of the community and can often influence large parts of the community in directions that inherently, knowingly or unknowingly, comes from a place of making personal income.

3 RepliesAnyone with half a brain would have seen that smg being a problem Not sure why bungie thought it was a good ideas to release it make it week 1 adept drop and be The 1st unlock in this season trial loot ....

Either way, they’re getting views..

6 RepliesI never listen to these guys. They’re never about practicality. The best gun is the gun you can make the best use of. Doesn’t matter what numbers on a sheet of paper says if it doesn’t handle well in your hands and with your build
-
3 RepliesCan you provide a specific example of this actually happening?

Then Bungie nerfs the gun because its being overused.
