Oversoul fragments bugged
If oversoul fragments are supposed to be farmable, which everyone says they are. Then I have found a bug where it appears only one character can get them to drop, at first I figured it was whoever you first clear it on but it seems just whoever you clear with first that week can get them, I’ve got 4 -5 clears per character both weeks and it only ever dropped on my first play through of the week. I have to go back and rest to see if they can get them from subsequent clears but I do know that out of 8-10 extra clears I should of gotten at least one. Will update if I can confirm that the first character of the week can farm subsequent fragments or not after update.

35 RepliesHello there Jarvan the 4th, We can confirm on our side that Oversoul Fragments only drop once per week and per account as a guaranteed drop, when completing that raid. Besides that, every encounter has a small drop chance, but it's not guaranteed.

well I guess you just have bad RNG, I did 2 raids an warlock and 2 on hunter, no triumphs for oversoul completed, and I already have 8 oversouls so it does drop random after every encounter completion. It's just too bad that it is completely RNG based

2 RepliesThis is the worst explanation I've ever heard. At least all the other raid exotic although random can be obtained mostly within 100 clears max. This is going to take forever to get 35 essences even at one guaranteed a week. How could you think this is feasible for the average player to accomplish in a reasonable amount of time. This isn't even close to reasonable. Be better Bungie.

As I've said to others, this feels like an account lock out, which would be the first I know of. You have a high chance or are guaranteed at least two on your very first weekly completion, the rest don't get any. You can farm them, I got one of Ir Yut after several one phases and another guy got two. Other players may still say this is better than the exotic being random, but I would have to disagree because not only is it completely out of nowhere for them to implement a soft lock out like this, but it's basically Bungie also saying players should, not including triumphs, get raid/ dungeon exotics in approximately 10 completions or 10 weeks. If that is the case, then there's no reason for their drops to be 100% RNG. At the very least, they should clarify this because as it stands, if you're not interested in red borders or armor for whatever reason, you're only going in there once per week, which is significantly less than what they want. I personally am only interested in Abyss Defiant and Word of Crota. Once I can craft those, I'd really only be going in there for Spoils because of how low the Essence drops plummet after the first completion. 2 on my first, Warlock. 2 from triumphs. 0 on my second. Hunter 2 on my third, after reset. Warlock 0 on my fourth. Hunter 1 farming Ir Yut. I'll update after I complete it for the third time this week on a looted run with my Titan.

This is just false I’ve farmed on all 3 characters and have got them to drop this week.

Bump ^ the drop rate is most likely bugged right now cuz the drop rate is -blam!- at the moment and if it isn’t bugged Bungie need to make it guaranteed to drop from every encounter across all chars for all looted clears, And they should also increase the drop rate for non looted clears and make it easier to farm cuz not everyone have the time to play 3 hours + of Destiny 2 everyday cuz of work and school and it’s stupid when you have to farm a heavily rng resource with abysmal drop rate.
