Undoing the sunset is a result of the fireteam power level.
Under the new power players would have been able to outfit themselves with sunset gear and in fireteam power activities they’d be pulled up in power.So they decided it’s best to just undo the sunset.
You’re not “owed” anything.Its embarrassing how many are crying about it. So what? I deleted everything. I’ll live.

Bungie has an easy fix to this whole problem: Let us craft the sunset weapons. Easy as that. Problem gone. No more tears or upset stomachs or regret. Just pure happiness I'm not sure why you're against the idea. Why are you against it?
