I still think Guardian Ranks shouldn’t reset.
I hit guardian rank 11 back in defiance cause like first time and whatever, but ever since I just genuinely don’t care. And it’s fine if the Guardian Ranks system was just like cosmetic or just personal achievement of something, but the fact they had the audacity to add a guardian rank requirement option to the fireteam finder LMAAOOO.
Hitting Rank 11 once at least proves you are capable of doing the toughest endgame in D2, and you should just keep it once you’ve done it once. I mean, isn’t the point of it to show other Guardians, you are experienced? Why does that have to be on a seasonal basis? My brain doesn’t factory reset 10 years of playing the game every three months lol.
It’s not like a huge deal or whatever, but it’s just profoundly stupid and pointless. And I thought title gilding was pointless.

I just really think none of it matters and therefore isn't an issue besides loadout slots in GR. Get those out, but otherwise, who cares? You get nothing but number-go-up past like 6, I think? And as far as FTF and people putting in GR rank requirements, let them. If their party doesn't fill because of it, that's on them. I've never understood why people want to control what other people put on their party requirements, like they're not just going to kick you for the same thing once you join anyways if that's the type of person they are lol. If someone wants to require me be rank 12, with 3 raid solo flawlesses, and a shiny gjallarhorn with cupholder, let em. I aint joinin lol.

I am a solo player and don't care for GR myself but see why it was added. I agree that it should not be reset.

This is true about guilding titles as well. The repetitive nature just instantly devalues anything but the highest repeat number.

5 RepliesWell then they shouldn’t be based on seasonal challenges either, or any challenges really. And ranks would be even more meaningless as they are if they weren’t based on “complete most recent master raid” or stuff like that. And lets say you were rank 11 around the time RoN came out and you got it via the master raid challenge thing right? And a solo normal current dungeon run. Now you will always be rank 11 but it’d be meaningless because rank 11’s do master raid content and a solo dungeon each season and thats still a noteworthy feat. Then you’d come along with rank 11 that you got seasons ago and look like a complete noob with current content Or the problems it would cause. Its a prestige thing aswell, solo dungeons can take alotta time like Ghosts but completing it should mean something. And thats what those ranks 10-11 are for. To show everyone : I did the gm, i did the this i did the that i did the master raid boss cp (lol) and now i have earned this rank! And if everyone could keep it it would be alot less meaningful And you do get to keep it, for the next season.

I don’t care about Guardian ranks but the seasonal reset does seem like it’s only there to ‘encourage’ some people to jump through some hoops repeatedly.

Guardian ranks should be abolished. Social scoring just causes a toxic environment for LFG and anything else it touches.

I guilded conquerer , did solo flawless dungeons , master raids and all before guardian rank even existed . I never judged people based on their loadout , rank or whatever . In my eyes a rank 11 player is just the same as a rank 7 player . Some think guardian rank makes them a better experienced player while the rank 11 player maybe has 1000 hours in game and the rank 7 player over 6000 hours so who is the better experienced player then ? Not the rank 11 player . People need to open their eyes ...

Tbh the whole system is pointless. There is an easy fix though. They need to add rewards to the ranks: shaders, emblems, materials, ships, sparrows, SKIMMER, etc. Then the resetting would be fine. Also wouldn’t mind some rewards being bright dust or maybe even silver for paragon. But its useless as a system when its lacking rewards.

I replied to a post similar to yours about a week or so ago. Guardian Ranks are laughable to me. They truly are. I quit playing for 7+mons and came back for the reissue of the pinnacle weapons in Onslaught. My rank is 6. I cannot reach rank 7 unless I purchase season 23 because one of the objectives to get to rank 7 requires me to level up with the seasonal vendor. Because I don’t own season 23 I can’t access the bounties from the seasonal vendor in order to rank up as required. In other words give Bungie more money if you want to be able to increase your Guardian Rank. I’m gonna remain rank 6 and I’ve got no problem with that.
