Attunement is a joke.
An absolute joke, I get more drops for weapons I am not attuned to than the one I am, what in the -blam!- kind of system is this bungie.
I try and defend and love this game but for the love of god you keep making it so much harder to do.

1 ReplyIt’s weird for sure but I’ve gotten almost every roll I want. I have some that are shiny shiny but overall at times it rains the weapon I have attuned at a way higher rate than 50% and then other times it seems more like 20%.

The RNG for everything surrounding Onslaught is terrible. Ive stopped playing full time, just login once every day or two to do a run. Because the game boosts your shiny droprate if you barely play. Been getting 2 an hour now on average. And then I close this trash and play actual good games for at least a day

6 RepliesHow do you tell someone you haven’t played many other games except Destiny? You write a post criticizing attunement. Seriously the fact attunement even exists, regardless of how well it works or doesn’t is irrelevant. You won’t find it in many other games. I give Bungie props for even implementing it. Having been away from the game and experiencing other games, upon my return to Destiny, I immediately realized just how easy it is to grind for desired items and rolls compared to what I was experiencing before. Heck I used to complain about crappy drop rates in Destiny before I experienced just how easy the grind is compared to other games. It sucks not getting what you’re chasing and it often feels your time investment isn’t being respected. Believe me when I tell you that compared to other games the grind in Destiny is nothing. Go play Diablo IV and farm the end game boss 100s and 100s of times because you need an Uber Unique item to solidify your build. Then you’ll understand what a grind truly is and how much easier and forgiving the Destiny RNG is.

Indeed. The average player got....onslaught. As the pantheon is clearly designed for their content creators and that says a lot about where they put their efforts but anyway we got onslaught and it of course gets boring as quickly as you think it would everyone wants a horde mode.....until they get them. but here I am with few if any draws left at this thing and really nothing worth keeping from it. Little if any ways to obtain what you want from the event and so much dilution with perks and total numbers of items that you would have to do what they want which is live in a boring playlist to obtain much from it. Is this what they think draws people to get out the wallet for their next pay out? If so I believe they are likely in as much trouble as their pre orders are likely telling them they are in.

Edited by Sas: 5/4/2024 6:11:17 PMSince I attuned to luna, I think all 90% if not all (it feels like all, but I may misremember) of the token chest ones and engram rewards from quests have been luna. I haven't played onslaught, so no idea if that's different.

Yeah it's kind of trash, only about 1 out of 10 weapons are ones I have set to attune.

I believe attunement deactivates itself after every daily reset. I've noticed from personnal experience that when I launch the game and go straight to onslaught the attuned weapon won't drop even though the game technically says it's active but when I go to the hall of champions first and manually deactivate the attunement then reactivate it it works as intended. Might be bullshît but that's my theory.

From my experience attunement works on the 150 waves you get weekly only. Cause after that I get random weapons not the one I'm chasing or have attuned [spoiler]did get 3 shiny lunas but no kill clip or magnificent howl[/spoiler] -
I suspect primaries have a higher drop rate than specials or heavies. I've noticed that when i attune a primary it's has like a 75% drop chance, but specials and heavies seems more like 25-50%

I agree with you. The Dev's want you to "grind" everything...which is fine. But the level of the "grind" most of the time is unrealistic for most players. They just don't understand how to balance challenge and fun, at this point in D2 lifecycle..players want more fun, less "extreme" grind.

Its all RNG. Attuning only makes the chance 50%, thats every drop has a 50% chance to be what you want and lots of drops does not increase that chance. You just have bad luck.
