Thorn + Necrotic Grips + Strand is smooth ❤️
I get it, 'if you don't use a well expect to be booted from LFG'. Literally everyone currently. Honestly I find the sound of sunshot rings through my head like an annoying kids TV show song, I can't stand it anymore. And well of radiance just being so meta it's boring. I refuse to be the well main now even if it gets me kicked.
Thorn has become my favourite PVE exotic so far. Picking up a remnant gives you potentially 45 in the mag which is crazy. Pair with Necrotic Grips and the poison damage is like ordering that perfect steak, absolutely smooth. With strand it works really well. Since thorn works with strand. I cannot take it off. I will NOT take it off. I don't care how meta sunshot and well is I refuse to use it. Using this with a few kinetic orb mods and thread of warding giving you constant woven mail is one of the best and clearing and survivability loadouts and strand being ridiculously fun and aesthetically pleasing not "pshh psshhh pshhh" sunshot.
The rest of the weapons is upto you, I use an apex predator because I definitely didn't use wish tokens to get that OP rocket, I definitely got that legit by doing last wish (no need to raid report me) just don't....
Osteo Striga got that nerf and thorn is currently taking its place, it's his little brother. If you want to go against the meta expect randoms to text chat "use a well please" in Onslaught. Honestly, it's a skill issue. Thorn is officially my baby ❤️

2 RepliesSo hear me out and give this build a try since you love strand warlock so much :) Final Warning for your primary, and a strand heavy with hatchling. Use the wanderer aspect, and also use the aspect that gives weavewalk. Run threadling grenades. For fragments, run thread of rebirth, thread of evolution, and thread of fury. For your exotic armor, run Swarmers boots. Set your stats however you prefer, but ideally you keep Melee energy on deck to enter the weave and spawn threadlings. Finally, run the strand perks on your artifact. If you get the threadlings started, they practically spawn themselves and everything unravels. Thanks to Swarmers, you'll spawn two threadlings from tangles too, and tangles can suspend targets. You're welcome. This build will help you survive fifty waves without a well. Just enter the weave to save yourself.

1 ReplyI've been theorycrafting a prismatic warlock buld with necrotic that I'm hoping plays well. If by some chance the necrotic grips perk is available on the new exotic class items though...things might get REALLY interesting

1 ReplyIt’s fine for trash enemies and low difficulty activities, it requires your teammates to carry you through anything else. Nothing wrong with using it as it is after all about your enjoyment, but it’s a burden for randoms to carry you through difficult activities.

Not keen on your loadout selection tbh, regardless of that, I applaud you for being you, always believed, if you run what is best for you, then you are the best asset to your team, if teams cannot survive without a well, then the team need to look at their own loadout, not yours .. I too am a warlock, never use sunshot, its boring, rarely if ever use well, prefer stasis turret build, freeze everything, who needs a well if everything is standing still, upvoted for your strength of character and free will ...

I would use Stasis if i want to, due to the hard CC from the Turrets and it’s champion properties minus Barrier Champions. Although Strand got a much better Super for damage (if it even work in your favor).

Thorn is good too but I love that SMG. Haven’t even tried going for Necrochasm to use with it. I legit haven’t taken Necrotic Grips off since beyond light came out. And I always use strand. No one ever kicks me from activities because of that. It’s nice for once.

1 ReplyIve been using this build since strand was released, crazy how all of a sudden people realized thorn exist and can do almost the same thing osteo can do. You guys can also use the crota auto rifle or even the touch of malice for some sick synergy too. Ive never once crutched on well for content, it’s a skill issue. Even the very few times I’ve raided, I told people to not rely on me for the well. Ive gotten lucky, everyone I have played with has been cool about it.

Gonna try it myself. Seeing as bungie have acknowledged well being to op we all should get used to not using or having well as much seeing as well will either be nerfed into oblivion or nerfed to be in line with bubble (don't run titan so not sure where bubble is right now). Funny part when well came out it was obvious it would be a problem down the line on the dev side.

10 RepliesPlayers are too scared to give potent builds a chance because they're not the safe norm, and the player base is missing out on a lot of fun because of it. My go-to for my hunter right now: Mothkeepers with Ex Diris on Strand. Between blinding moths, whirling maelstrom, severs, overshields, and unraveling rounds, the build has a lot of options and utility. And Lucky Raspberry with disorienting punch and a voltshot indebted kindness. It's a never-ending grenade, jolt, and blind party.

I support not being a well main too. The super is fantastic don’t get me wrong and damn near mandatory for certain encounters in the game, but it’s so liberating to just destroy everything with something that isn’t solar. I’m really digging the threadling army build for warlock it’s so fun just being able to walk away and know my threadlings will do the job while I’m going to help with sub objectives or getting batteries for decoys and the ADU.

I like it with necrochasm more, but I've been a necrochasm fanboy since D1 so Thorn didn't really stand a chance.

It’s good used it alone in onslaught and it cleaned up. Pair with hunter boots anc it rocks. I prefer strand but works well with solar. I just like stranding out of situations quickly preventing wipes
