The new exotic sucks. You can already get arcane needle to suspend in one hit, why do warlocks need an exotic that requires you to get 3….
Like at the end of the day, only 2 people who work at bungie play warlocks. Then around 30 play titans and the rest play hunters. It really shows in game.
Warlocks have felt like trash for a while. They can do powerful things but they require way more synergy use and effort than other classes.
You need 5-6 things working in tandem that need executed in a specific order, you also have to rely on your teammates not stealing your kills, and if you mess up at all your stuck with just your gun for at least a minute. This gets even worse when you need to get your on kill triggers in high level content where enemies are even harder to kill. Not to mention that anytime a synergy is working well it gets nerfed into the ground.
Take Ruinous Effigy warlock back in shadowkeep. It took a lot of effort to setup, not many people used it but if you knew what you were doing you could get a really solid defensive shield and a strong life drain. Then with beyond light it was nerfed so hard that it made it completely unusable.
I don’t even main warlock. It was my first character in D1 but I’ve played all 3 pretty much equally. I really wanted to go into TFS playing warlock but honestly… why would I play a class that needs me to spend hours buildcrafting just to have my buddy shoot the red bar acolyte and I’m back to chipping at people with zaoulis bane. When I could just go on Titan and punch to get the power of an rocket launcher on melee button, or hunter where enemies just can’t see me so don’t kill me.
The only thing that made warlock stomachable this season was the extremely op solar artefact.

Personally I think the exotic looks great and will tie in perfectly with my current strand suspend build.
