5 solo master lost sectors and no exotic chest piece??
This is rough lol. Use to get them almost every playthrough.. is it really just bad luck?? Or did they nerf the meaning of COMMON???

There is no official number given but player data estimates are approximately 33% for Master and 25% for Legendary, which is only an 8% difference. For that reason I would recommend running Legend for Exotics and Master for weapons. Now I certainly wouldn't call that "common" but apparently that's what Bungie considers it. They are at least going away from this system and offering the new exotics from Master Rahool's new reward track directly. That does make one wonder what purpose higher difficulty Lost Sectors will have in the future, perhaps they would give the unopened Exotic Engrams if you have unlocked all the previous Exotics?

Common, you would think, happens more times than not, right!! So I would say you're unlucky, but when I was chasing exotics I wouldn't call the drop rate common... definitely in the rare category. On average, 3 drops every 10 completions... which is quite rare I think.

Since there is no bad luck protection, each run is treated as its own independent run and has the same drop chances regardless of if it was first run or thirtieth.

Ive gone 27 with no exotic to show for it. I wholeheartedly hate this aspect of the game. Linear progression is infinitely better than grinding rng. Bad luck protections need to be implemented. I dont want to waste massive amounts of my time trying to be able to play the game the way i want to.
