Wow, Frost Armor sucks (at least on paper)

Edit: TLDR, just seems like a very slightly worse woven mail with extra steps Based on what I’m reading, these changes are an overall nerf to stasis’ DR. 36% at max stacks with the fragment vs just standing near a crystal to get 40%. The only thing that will save frost armor is the ability to get stacks being plentiful, but even then, having to build up stacks instead of just getting it is annoying af. The shiny new cooldown on making shards is also a lovely -blam!- ing slap in the face.

  • It seems like a net neutral. The healing from stasis shards and the freedom to move around without needing a Stasis crystal is certainly nice and I do agree keeping crystals up for DR was somewhat counterintuitive and difficult to manage in group settings. Making the conditions more clear and accessible to players who are not as good at micromanaging all these buffs will make Stasis have a much higher floor. It’s unclear if these make up for the much greater DR we currently have but I imagine they figured the more offensive oriented buffs (shatter damage and all the class specific buffs) make up for it. Personally, I think Stasis should have better DR than Woven Mail offers. Stasis is the defensive subclass and should not be outshined by a subclass that has much greater offensive potential, movement potential, and similarly great defensive tools. I think bumping the DR at 8 stacks of Frost armor to 45-50% might be better but I will wait and play with the new changes before saying that for sure.
