Destiny 2's gunplay is really enjoyable, but I often find myself stuck with certain guns rather than others.
In particular, I realize that most of the weapons I'm willing to pick up and try for the first time are craftable weapons. This is likely because you can dictate what roll suits your playstyle, without having to roll the dice on a random chance for that 'god roll'.
Having newer players experiment with weapons they recieve and familiarize themselves with the perks they're just getting to know is good, but eventually they'll have learned the perks and know what they want to have on certain weapons.
Weapons like the BRAVE arsenal are good examples of weapons that wouldn't ever need to be craftable, because of their means to be obtained.
But many of the world drops and Gunsmith weapons should really be craftable. There are a lot of them, and while Expert lost sectors can sometimes provide a better means to get them, it's still a bit too grindy. Whatever Exotic mission is in rotation is practically the only way for me to potentially get a new red border weapon at this point, seeing as most craftable weapons are limited to seasonal content or raids. (Which isn't something everyone is going to be able to do.)

I saw they posted that going forward, they want pretty much all weapons to either be craftable or able to be leveled for enhanced perks. They said there's limitations though because there are certain legacy weapons that can't be switched over to those systems.
