I can only hope / imagine that the reason why matchmaking is so bad right now is the last 100 staff that got fired all belonged to the crucible department.
If there are any bungie staff left running crucible i pray to Odin that sony will hit them with the you're not good at your job hammer
It's atrocious right now, and I applaud sony for getting rid of the usless.
update
It's gotten worse in a week!
8v8 seems the norm, and the loading into the next match is taking sometimes 5min plus, the -blam!- map rotation seems to be the main map rotation.

5 RepliesMatchmaking suffers when the overall pvp population gets too low… Bungie’s incompetence & ignorance made that happen. Prismatic Hunter Meta Overwhelming the Crucible 👉 Never Ending Ability Spam 👉 August Sandbox Changes NOTHING 👉 Result… Lots of People Quit PVP 👉 Ergo… Almost Nobody Plays Trials or Ranked Playlists Anymore… Regular Crucible Suffers too with Low Population Numbers. FYI… This past weekend, Trials population went barely over 100k. The upcoming weekend will most likely have even fewer players (much closer to 100k number). And then… you’ll see the player base shrinking even more (below 100k). At that point, Trials streamers will start looking for other games to stream… It happened before with the vanilla version of destiny (with Trials being taken on a hiatus). And now we are on the same course. Perhaps, there won’t be any hiatus this time. Nevertheless, this game mode won’t improve anytime soon if ever… considering layoffs at Bungie, no dedicated PVP team, no PVP plans for the future.. etc The reality is that Bungie is just trying to survive until the release of their next game (Marathon). If that game flops… then Bungie will literally cease to exist.
