Bringing back the light level chase feels like adding another hamster wheel designed to artificially increase playtime. This kind of decision makes me want to spend less time in destiny. Not more.
There are already too many things we have to repeatedly do in this game.
Leveling our character should not be one of them.
Making a number go up is not a substitute for actually having things to do.

It’s coming along with the content 🤔
-
Chasing light level isnt content, but it gives incentive to play more of the content.
-
What if the number is supposed to represent what you've done not that you have things to do? If time played is trivialized for average, every day, run of the mill no-lifes that are just mindin their own business, then it can be trivialized for anyone. I hope we've all learned a lesson. You all would have seen this coming if you had been speaking to the no-life in your life.
-
It would at least be nice if it offered progression. But now they always pit us at a scaling disadvantage. Those s*y drinkers at bungle will never learn.
-
Their "live team" - or what's left of it - is running this game now, get used to it, or uninstall like the rest of us.
-
I wish Sony would get rid of this entire business and get an actual developer to work on this game, who knows how to design a progression system that matters.

Hate light level grind the most boring thing -
It doesn't help that Light Level hasn't mattered since Final Shape dropped. You're either at the same Level as the enemies or under. Light Level grind at this point is meaningless and the biggest waste of time.
-
To top it off, there is no point in power anymore thanks to power disabled/minus power. You are always put to disadvantage now so what is the point in getting better gear when it equates to no actual power increase anymore?
-
They have nothing else to give endgame players but chasing a stupid number.
-
since they reduced the source of pinnacles, average players just can't earn enough every week to reach hard cap. Too many pinnacles are locked behind hard content. Raids and dungeons. Just saying more stuff that is not player friendly, plus more grind. I need one more pinnacle to reach 2K, now I will be chasing those all over again. NO THANK YOU! Time to revert some of those exotic drops that used to be pinnacles back to pinnacles!

Several threads to the same topic. Hence please forgive my copy/paste. Just another nail to the coffin. Unfortunately. Even the yearly increase was an annoyance. But well, I took it, better than nothing. Increase once a year, bring step by step all your gear to the same pinnacle level and don't care about PL for a long time. Checkmark. Deal done. Now back to the old 3 or 4 month reset? Even if it's "only" by +10? Bad decision, wrong decision. And not what the majority of players want. It's confusing (or irritating) how detached meanwhile companies same like governments have become and forcing whatever decision on the people they finally depend on. A jug can be brought to the well until it breaks. Take care of yourselves. This is just a little annoyance in the greater scheme of things. It will resolve itself by basic market mechanisms.

If they want to invest in endgame content for endgame players, they can start with refreshing the VoG & GoS raid loot, like they did with Last wish
-
Why are you all throwing a tantrum for 10 -blam!- levels? It is not that deep.
-
Well, I'm done with endgame and buying expansions. This has pushed me into free-to-play mode.
-
actually it is , but not for destiny with the level cap and leader cap system
-
It's 10 levels holy -blam!- you guys are ridiculous

the hamster says from his wheel

Every night I log on here just to see what you're all crying about now. Looks like an account wide power increase of 10 levels is what's causing the toys to be thrown out of the pram today 🤣

I agree but it is not artificial. It is arbitrary.
