Just some observations from the dev stream I found hilarious given what I know about this forum.
-Counterfeit mod in Tomb of Elders lmao
-The dev saying it's his favorite modifier loooooool
-The new artifact mods being (terrible) close-ranged focused (their words, not mine) hahahaha
Y'all that modifier isn't going away. They like it. Ripperoni for that group.

sav
free of this garbage on heresy’s release - old
Need to bring back the mini screebs at some point tbh. -
Sony needs to find a way to take over 🙄 😒
-
Counterfeit is a terrible modifier because its all risk no reward. This kind of design is killing the game lmao.

Rip melee builds haha. To be fair , one titan speedrunning solo lightblade in like 11 mins with consecration is probably why. I disliked it the first 2 GM runs. Now I kinda like it. Also funny to shoot the bricks when a teammate is nearby. Watch them explode. It really isnt hard to just shoot 1 primary bullet at each brick, or notice the arc glow which starts at like 15-20m away… If it ruins your life then perhaps play a different game, sounds harsh but the modifier aint so bad honestly
-
Yeahhh, the way people made this modifier out to be was a little dramatic Like, my first exposure to it was in Lightblade GM, and after seeing and getting hit by one, I gave a "That's it? This is the boogeyman?" Maybe it's a little annoying if you're doing a CQB setup, but it was nowhere near as bad as people made it sound And the Exotic Engram Nukes? Hilarious

yep the modifier that punish players for not using eyes, terrible
-
Hey shoot to loot has another use now
-
I concur with your observations on the dev stream. Doomed if they think this is a worthwhile innovation. ...at least the modifier is clear on the screen now and they won't let a youtuber explain it.. IMO > What it is (and several of the directions of the game since the DCV) is savings on size of the game. Instead of smarter enemies, dif types, maps, activities> you know content... they've weaponized a current asset.. ammo drops with 2-3 lines of code. Is it horrible? No... just a strange direction to take. I get to use shoot to loot more.. I guess. And its fun to see low resil class die.. haha.. but why these silly modifiers?

Don't worry about counterfeit,I'm sure our upcoming schoolgirl outfits can take the blast.LOL Schoolgirl outfits? Yikes
-
What do you expect? That dev is positively giddy when describing how much he loved that initial spiketrap in the Coil that every player hated having to deal with. The dude loves when the playerbase is annoyed at something; it sustains him.

Instead of trying to grab everything you see and crying when it blows you to kingdom come, stand back and shoot the suspiciously glowing loot.. Time it right, and it's like shooting a sticky grenade with a bit smaller AOE.
-
I think it’s fun as -blam!-. I mean the drops glow like a moth. Yeah yeah melee up close….. don’t melee up close. 🤷🏻♂️
-
The modifier is nowhere near as bad as yall make it out to be

You have time to move before they blow up, they don’t do much range at all and you can also tell one is an explosive before getting close enough to one. As for close range, I use exclusively close renege builds and it doesn’t make it any harder to play with the modifier.

Lol, they are easy to identify. They have a crackling arc effect around them. The only complaint I have about them is that every once in a while, an enemy will drop more than one fake brick at your feet, and you die. But that's more about positioning/awareness. As long as you play at a safe distance and look at the bricks with your eyeballs, it's fine.
