5-6 months into playing the game. I am still not sure how things are supposed to work. Watching videos and reading articles reported that the rolls have been fixed for you to get the one in search of. Is focusing 99 engrams to get your roll supposed to be the intended way?
This is one weapon. I want to play the game, but not like this. This is crazy! I went into IB for the sidearm. After I do not know how many engrams, I got one with a chill clip roll. I'm not going back in. I am traumatized after that experience 😪. All jokes aside, I am not going back in.
This link shows the end of the focus for the roll. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2317341181
I came in with an open mind for RNG minus the crafting. I was wrong. While I understand this may not be everyone's experience, it is mine.
I do not think I can continue in this play style. I get it is a looter shooter. The question I have is, where is the middle ground? It used to be fun. Not so much anymore.
[Update]
Thank you all for the informative feedback. Especially the mathematicians in the feed. Because of you all, I understand it way better now. I am happy with what I got and will make those weapons work. I am looking forward to the next episode. Everyone keeps talking about the Dreadnaught. I have never experienced it, so I am excited. I am hoping this will be the Destiny release people remember and more. The story is good so far what I have played. Reading the lore helps. But I'm starting to connect the dots from D1. I will get there eventually. The Dreadnaught and Frontiers I am hoping has content towards the story and progresses it. I still want to kill Maya. Sorry, I'm getting too much into it. Thank you all for the education with the game. Soon, I will not be a blueberry.

Edited by NotCreative123: 12/5/2024 7:46:11 PMIf you have a 1 in 100 chance of getting a roll, you might not get the roll you want for THOUSANDS of tries. Bayes Thereom: Probability of getting roll in "n" rolls = 1 - (probability of not getting roll in "n" turns) The probability of not getting roll in "n" turns = (99/100)^n => P(n) = 1 - (99/100)^n If you roll 100 rolls, your odds of getting the item are at 63%. If you roll 200 rolls, your odds of getting the item are at 86.6%. If you roll 500 rolls, your odds of getting the item are at 99.3%. HOWEVER, you will never reach 100%. Also, EVERY TIME, you still only have a 1% chance. These are GENERALIZATIONS ONLY. Probability is weird, and it sucks EDIT: To calculate the probability of getting a certain roll, multiply the following: (Chance to get perk 1)*(chance to get perk 2)*... (chance to get perk x)*chance to get perk (x+1) For example, if I want 3 of 12 barrel perks, 2 of 6 mag perks, 1 of 8 perks, 3 of 8 perks, and 2 of 5 Masterworks, then I have a... (3/12)*(2/6)*(1/8)*(3/8)*(2/5) = 0.00156 chance of getting it. That means I have a 0.156% of getting the roll I want.
