Can a spartan remove their armor?

I'm curious, are the spartan suits removable, or are they cybernetically grafted to the people that wear them?

  • i would assume its similar to the space station, in recycling ALL water, as for poo, prolly fed straight nutrients like a plant, thus none. come to think of it, theres prolly little ingestion while suited up, seems like it would be all IV. [Edited on 11.26.2010 8:28 AM PST]

  • They can take it off, but in the books it was noted that John, Sparten-117, felt aucward (please don't flame for spelling) walking without his armor. This is because the armor reads his neural inpulces and moves with him (like using a second pair of arms and legs over the original). But then again, the only time we ever saw a Sparten in the Halo series NOT either getting ready or already in battle was the award ceramony at the beginning of Halo 2. Because of this I can see where one can get confused, I hope this information has helped you.

  • They can all get out of the armor if they need to, and the ability to do minor field repairs. I'm sure some of the spartans had a more technical knowledge and could fix more complex parts but most of them had to rely on techs. If you mean the III's then yes, their armor is a more cost-effective variant of the original armor designed by Halsey.

  • MLOJNIR armor is removable, though it takes a great deal of training to do so. As far as we know, Kurt (the SPARTAN-II who trained the SPARTAN-IIIs) is the only SPARTAN who knows how and is able to take his armor off and put it on by himself; the other SPARTANS know how to take off bits and pieces, but have no idea how to dissamble the torso, shoulder and leg parts.

  • That's a really good question. They're removable. I mean, they're just suits after all. How do you think they upgrade armors? In the books, it's shown many many times that a Spartan can remove his armor without any problems though.

  • I saw artwork of Spartans without their armor, and they wore some kind of black suit. I'd imagine they'd have people help them out of their suit.

  • obviously, or they would not be able to get medical treatment after battle.
