I fot a message saying installation of content failed see xbox.com for more support information can somebody tell me how to fix it

Just got off the phone with Microsoft and they are saying and I quote:" There has been lot's of problems with the Halo 2 video game and new maps. Please wait 24hrs and if the problem is not resolved please call back".

Tombstone is a great map, real fun, desolation is abit simple 4 me but is still a desent map

I am using an Xbox 360 and so is my friend. We both cannot download the new maps even though we both have our credit cards linked to our Xbox 360 accounts. Our accounts used to be on our Original Xbox but we moved them over to premium on the 360. We get an error message that says "Installation of content failed. See www.xbox.com for more support information." We have both reset our Xbox 360 and when we loaded Halo 2 back up and went to content download, the symbol for new content is not there and when we highlight Blastacular Pack it still has a star BUT it says we have purchased the content. Someone tell me whats wrong.

I must agree. I messed around for hours only to find 3 million ways i can die in tombstone. Most amuseing to my friends. There are super bounces but the likelyness of breaking the Db is unlikely. Maybe when they out them into matchmaking ull be able to break th Db.

My halo 2 Cd will not load anymore. It says it's not backwards compatible, and there may be an update. I have US 360, and an Xbox live account. I went to go downlaod the new maps, but now i can't even play the game. This is really stupid, should have been released in xobox market place.

i think i may have found something for all the people including myself having the problem of the "content failed to install". in the update on bungie homepage frankie said : "The Xbox downloader and update programs needed to get AutoUpdate 5 and the new maps have an odd issue with support of the PAL-60 TV standard on the Xbox 360. This is simply because the backward compatible part of the dashboard was never updated for that resolution and it means you can’t use VGA to run these programs. However, fear not - to work around this, switch over to the composite (yellow) cable that shipped with your Xbox 360, get the update and the maps, and then you can switch back to VGA and play happily like nothing ever happened. Of course, if you’re using a VGA monitor, it does mean you’ll have to connect to a regular TV to complete that process." now, idk if all the people having this problem are using VGA's and on a 360, but its something that im going to try right now, and i am using a VGA on a 360.

Ok i found out how to get past the premium download block. What i did was created a new live silver account that comes with a one month gold trial with which i was able to get to the area that you can download the maps. I did get the purchase failed message though i guess that is just from server congestion. Hope this helps people.

Word on the street is either: 1. Too many people are trying to install it, or 2. Bungie took them down to fix something? Pick your poison...either way looks like some waiting

Alternatively, go to http://wwww.xbox.com Sign In (upper right corner) Select "My X-Box" Then "Profile" Then make neccesary changes in "Billing and Contact Information"

I had the same problem earlier. I'm still not sure exactly how I got it to work, but I made a new XBL Silver account, and then you get one month of XBL Gold free when you're setting it up. I tried downloading it through that ID several times and it didn't work. I guess fourth time was the charm, it loaded up and downloaded just fine. It was super frustrating, but just playing with it for a while did the trip. Hope that helps.

I hope its just a server error because i want my maps. lol its probably a server crash or bandwidth overload.

I'm giving up, Bungie has my money and I got nothing out of it. If I don't get the maps by tonight I'm filing a complaint.

Ok. I am able to download Warlock and Containment, and have been charged for the 2 new maps, but I cannot download them on my original xbox.
