--I did not write this, this is someone elses thread--
Please someone copy and paste this on Halo3 forums (here, at b.net) I'm banned. ANd I have some valid points
So some people don't like Halo3's ending, the level and the story ending. Really most of the points they have make no sence. So let me explain, if you didn't know.
Story-The story, the War ended. What else is there, what do you want Chief to land on some planet full of apes. All your enemies are gone, Earth is safe, well the entire Galaxy was.
The Covenant-The Covenant was destroyed. The Elites destroyed the Brutes/Covenant fleets. Half Jaw said "Truths fleet lie in ruin". So the Brutes, Hunters, Grunts, Drones and Jackals got owned. The Elites got those races in the Covenant, and Ironicly they took them out too. So no more covenant. They have no leaders, little to no ships or soildiers left. Even if some lived they would be too weak to do anything.
The Flood-The Flood, or Gravemind was killed, blown up. Yet to clarify the flood didn't really die. You just killed there leader, and a few million of them. The Flood still exist, just like the Covenant. But not enough to do anything. As long as nothing is dumb enough to get infected the flood will be no threat. When Gravemind died the flood went back to there primitive stages.
So that means the flood can no longer drive, or repair ships.
Chief - Some wanted Chief dead, some did not. Bungie gave you both. Chief did live, but no one on Earth knows it, if you watched the last cutscene you'd hear what lord hood said I remember how this war started, what your kind did to mine, I can't forgive you but you have my thanks. For staying by him until the end, Hard to believe he's dead
. The Elites and Humans assumed he was dead. Earth will remember Chief, as a hero.
And thats why the ending was so sad, Chief could be in space for ever, he might never be rescued. Now before you go "OMG LEGENARY WTFF". Yes I know, but just because he's going towards a planet doesn't mean he's rescued. Yet I'm sure the planet will show up in some BOOK!.
Why no big battle?-There was, Not at the very tip ending, but there was a big battle. On top of the control room when a few hundred Flood were storming you. That was an epic battle, and the big battle before you killed Truth, and the other few big battles. Plus having some big battle at the end would be cliche, worse if Chief died fighting.
Why didn't we protect Earth? Because Earth isn't the center of the universe. The Ark was way more important, and not just the Ark the entire Galaxy was. You did save Earth, and the Galaxy. Better to save everything, then just one thing. Plus you did destroy that AA Battery, which made Air travel safer. Either way you did save Earth, you just saved everything else with it.
Why did Johnson Die? Johnson died because he lived wayyyy too much. Which is also why he died in such a "weak" way. He lived the flood, an explosion, tons of battles. What better way to kill him them the most unlikely way. We don't need him being killed by some huge Brute....which would be stupid. 343 isn't a weakling, His armor is stronger then yours, probably be a few 100x. Johnson was also Chief "friend" and killing him was an emotional trip. Because Chief and Johnson were close to each other. Now Chiefs friend died, but he died a hero.
Why did they have a boss battle? I don't know, I think it's because they wanted 343 to die, but not in some cutscene. I think everyone wanted to kill 343 since Halo1, and bungie gave it to you.
What the ---- was a racing on at the end. Platforms that is not halo! Well it is. The Platforms were part of the UNFINISHED HALO. Didn't you notice the large gaps. Those platforms are what make Halo, thats the core "bone" of it. The dirt, rock and sand are placed on top of that. Those platforms are under any Halo you've ever been on.
What Halo is that? Easy, it's the Halo you destroyed. The Ark makes Halo's, And since there is suppost to be 7 Halo's it will remake them if needed. The Halo was not done, but was getting close.
So there, I explained it.

actually the arbiter knows hes alive thats why he says " if it were so easy." so that means that it isnt easy ti belive hes dead
