W'rkncacnter

Does anybody believe in the possible existence of a W'rkncacnter in the Halo universe? If at all, I don't believe it would make it into the game, maybe a book. Could it be possible that the Ark contains a W'rkncacnter? The strange crystal that the team picks up in Halo: First Strike posesses properties similar to that of a released W'rkncacnter (time distortion, chaos in slipspace). I just thought it would be interesting to think of how one would play into the Halo universe, if at all. For those of you who don't know what one is... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%E2%80%99rkncacnter

 •
Posted by: FleetAdmiralBob The Gravemind/Flood could be the Haloverse's W'rkncacter. They take its whole "All-consuming menace to life itself" place in the story.
I suppose you're right there.
Actually, its never explained if W'rkny is a single entity or many.
I did say 'a' W'rkncacnter, meaning either a singular entity that is one of many, or a single 'part' of a super-entity.
... and I think the floods very existance causes chaos. It caused plenty on High Charity.
Exactly, the Flood causes chaos, it doesn't create it. And yes, there is a difference.
In short: The flood can be the Halo's W'ncacnter, albiet in a much less super-natural form.
Blargh. Agree.
... and if they are not, then I'd love to see a W'rkcacnter come out of that sun in the Dyson sphere.
Have to make sun go boom first.

 • Or what if the W'rkncacnter created the Flood.

 • Thanks, I didn't realize that I had to put it into link form. I don't personally believe there will be anything more than accute references or easter eggs pertaining to W'rkncacnters, it would just be too much for the commercial Halo 3 player to bear. I'd like to see some fiction incorporating them, maybe expansions on the Halo universe. If anything, I find the idea of W'rkncacnters absolutely fascinating, and I think that it would be really cool to see one in the Halo universe.

Anyway, I wouldn't exactly be surprised, but I think that they are only dropping a few references in.

 • I think Bungie likes to incorporate things from past games into new games, but I have my doubts.

 • I agree with dalmedya. Only time will tell , though. There were strange temporal anomalies in Ghost of onyx that could lead to a possible connection to Marathon. [Edited on 09.06.2007 9:03 AM PDT]

 • While it's an intresting hope, Marathon's thematic differences make that HIGHLY unlikely.
