All the main halo games had basic customization for Spartans. Halo 1 had basic colors, halo 2 had more colors and a elite character, halo 3 had a few armor pieces to switch between for elites and Spartans and halo 4 had an assortment of armor pieces. Should there only be one spartan across all multiplayer engines? Or the same customizations as they had when the first launched to retain the feel of the original version?

They said they were going to leave each game as they were released, including each of the multiplayers. So I'd bet on the there being separate Spartans to customise for each game

Edited by Poweezy: 6/24/2014 3:34:09 AMI am almost positive it will be one soldier Reason being: You will be able to join a lobby and the 8 players can vote to play H1, H2, H3, H4 So each player would vote for one of these: Halo CE Slayer Hang Em High Halo 2 1CTF Lockout Halo 3 Team BRs Snowbound Halo 4 Assault Adrift For that reason I just do not see there being multiple Spartans. I can't explain it well. If these games were not going to have these sorts of lobbies and only had individual lobbies for each game then yeah I would think they would have 4 individual Spartans but since it is all one intermingled mess I think it will be ONE Spartan. Not only that but they also said something about there only being ONE ranking system across all multiplayers.

Edited by Orion: 6/24/2014 11:59:49 AMWell it obviously won't be one across all four games since they would then have to port all of Halo 4's disgusting armours into the other games, which we already know they're not from screen shots. The designs are even worse than they are in Warframe.

They already said they're not changing any of the engines and code. I'd bet it will be default Spartans across all games. But another theory is when you vote for say Halo 3 Team Slayer Snowbound the game will take you and the other players into Halo 3's matchmaking lobby before the game starts and you'll be able to go into the menu and customize your appearance for Halo 3 same with Halo 4. That's just one of the theories going around the internet atm. No one has really any clue how Halo CE and Halo 2 customizations will be handled if at all.
-
I don't see why it'd only be one Spartan across all games.

In order to have your armor from lets say Halo 4 to carry over to Halo CE or one of the other three games that would require one massive engine change. They would have to code each piece of armor and armor combination to work in the games they aren't from. Then they would need to add the ability of changing our armor to Halo CE and Halo 2 which would be a massive change since it's not in there. Having the customization that's unique to the game it's from is a hell of a lot easier.

No. Though Emblems could be cross game. I always wished my H2 emblem (That I'm using as my Avatar) was in Reach and 4.
-
I like the idea of creating a character on one engine (Halo 3 and 4, specifically) that would work across all games. Pro: at least Elite fans would get their lizards back. Con: graphics wouldn't match up. I'm expecting to work on different Spartans for each multiplayer. Hopefully with the armor I've worked so long to obtain.
-
2 Spartans and 2 Elites.
-
I hope you can customize each one per game. and PLEASE I want my H2/H3 emblem back!!! (the one I have right now as my avatar). The fact it was not in H4 made me really mad.
-
You were only able to customize Spartans in three of the games and in one of the it was to only change the colors of your spartan.
-
Lol imagine halo 4 anime Spartans in halo CE. Halo fans would riot
-
I think it could work to have one, Color would all be the same, But oblivious some of the armor from game to game is different. So it will probably just be 4 different
-
They're all different engines so it wouldn't really work

Customization is what it was for every game. Meaning: -you choose your color in Halo 1 -you choose your colors, race and emblem in Halo 2 -you choose your colors, race, head, shoulders, chest and emblem in Halo 3 -you choose your colors, head, shoulders, chest, legs, forearms, and emblem in Halo 4
