It ruined the social aspect yes, but before it had MM you were able to advertise a raid in general chat where as destiny you can't without 3rd party resources.
Even an in game channel on destiny could work, most if not all consoles work with keyboards.

Yep that I wont argue with. A bulletin board or something at the tower would be a good addition to the game, and a boon to many.
