Great Post I'm in a very similar position to yourself and couldn't agree more. I really enjoy playing this game solo but its so much better when playing with others ( friends or randomers ) and everybody ive played with and spoke to so far seem to be fairly decent human beings ( i haven't had a 13 year old tell me that he is going to do disturbing sex acts on my mother yet .... ) I love the game, I really do / i know alot of people are complaining about this and that but you are always going to get this.
