I have already bought the dlc and I love the game. Buy the dlc this is going to be fun
Contrary to popular belief I am actually an avid supporter of destiny. I did not post this to be dishonoring to Bungie nor its fan base. I merely pointing to the fact that we have a long way to go until the nay Sayers are satisfied, if they ever are. I realize I had failed to mention this to begin this and for that I am sorry. Good luck Guardians.

And for the record, wildfires don't need to be spread. Humanity tends to avoid and eliminate them, it's just bad for business.
-
Hahahaha this is dumb

Someone peed in his cornflakes.

I'll be sure to buy it and enjoy another 10 or 20 hours with the game , well worth the money as is destiny Spent more time with destiny since skyrim , the constant complaining is hilarious , no one gives a shit if you play or stay
-
Also, don't you recognize the hypocrisy of rocking people with all your exotics for the whole video while bitching about destiny being the anti christ? Get of your high horse man. Kinda like what you said, you think your special because everyone does but really your just another entitled prick who doesn't understand his own insignificance. I hope my power comes back soon so I can play destiny and not sit on the forum...
-
Frankly I don't need to watch a 35 minute video of some nerdy keyboard warrior telling me how to spend my money. As long as I continue to enjoy this game, I will buy DLC, regardless of what anybody tells me on youtube. Thanks.

Stuff happens....

I am convinced that the biggest problem with Destiny is that it does not satisfy gaming addicts. It's really sad to see people obsess over this game and develop an unhealthy relationship with it. People who pour hundreds of hours into Destiny and finally decide they don't like it. That's addiction. You are addicted to playing a game you hate. Vote with your money. Save yourself the stress.

Edited by Synthiate: 10/23/2014 4:21:18 PMSo you geniuses think that poof and Destiny becomes better if we don't buy the DLC? Yes, what we we were told to was different than what we got, but why go into extremes? To make them learn that unhealthy DLC politics hurt sales? The problem comes from the fact that if we don't buy the DLC, the game becomes a ghost town because we lack the new DLC content and at that point the game will become stale for all of us. That doesn't make sense, does it? I like Destiny, I want to support it, in hope that maybe Destiny 2 will be even better, maybe even as good as the hype made the first one to be (And seriously, game as good as the hype tells is like... Amazing). The successful launch of the first game has proven Activision that Destiny is a brand worth cherishing, and I'm pretty goddamn sure they've heard the uproar that we've made as a community, either directly or from Bungie. .... Me, a sheep? Maybe. Give Bungie a chance, they have just made the first step into the MMO-esque games, they can't get everything right on the first try. Bungie, even in it's current large state, is still just a group of people, trying to make a game... ...Ok, maybe I'm kind of biased, for I got the limited edition, so I've already paid for the DLC.

He raises a lot of valid points.

And die out like wildfire? Also wildfire only spreads about 500 acres give or take. I doubt the community inhabits a radius of wildfire, but you tried. Also I'm buying out of principle, just to piss off the little baby bitch boycott that you somehow think will work.

Edited by Roxas144: 10/23/2014 4:55:44 PMIt is really interesting why happened to he rest of the game, and I'm not saying it's a good thing, but at least the game we have now is still fun. You have to think about it in terms of value. Is destiny worth 60$. How much of a game is worth 60$ anyways? Am I getting the same value buying destiny for 60$ as I am buying angry birds Star Wars for 60$? Was so much time and money put into destiny that they exceeded the 60$ value and decided to cut it so they didn't lose money and risk the quality of future titles and employee jobs? Destiny is a big beautiful looking game especially for a new ip. Which developers and publishers don't like to throw money into for fear of the unknown. For the sake of ensuring future titles, they had to guarantee profit. If that involves cutting some content, which we don't even know why we are getting in the dlc, then I'm okay with that. Now with destiny being profitable and popular, I can't wait to see what they crank out with the sequel.

At the end of the day he's right but people don't seem to care when companies milk then, lie,rip off ect I just don't see why maybe I was just raised better
-
Can we really say that the guy in the video is wrong though? Whether it is true or not, the "original" story for this game did sound infinitely more appealing than what we got. I love Bungie, but it's hard not to agree with the guy in the video.
-
Just a few minutes in and I already gave up on the video due to false information. The content of Destiny is not on your disc, you are accessing it from Bungie's servers. This is the nature of an online only game. The DLC maps are there because Bungie is preparing for their release not because they are already on your disc and you're just locked out of them. Besides, just because the map graphics are "ready" doesn't mean any accompanying enemies mobs, boss fights, interactable objects, cutscenes, or other more unique features are completed. That's like saying saying a book is complete just because it has a title and cover art. And don't try to tell me that adding that stuff is easy and shouldn't take so much effort and time, video game design is not a drag-and-drop program.

Lol @ all the poors in this thread who think their $60 purchase was some sort of significant investment.
-
Here's my argument for DLC: 1. spend $15 while going to a movie (more if you're with someone else and buying snacks). You get ~2 hours of entertainment. Or go out to dinner somewhere, and spend more than $15, and you only really get the satisfaction while you're eating at the restaurant (probably about an hour or less). 2. Spend $15 dollars on DLC, and then you have it forever. It adds to the game you already have, and you get dozens (probably hundreds) of hours worth of entertainment from it.

Can you please search the forum, this vid has been posted all afternoon and the majority of players are quite happy with the game.
-
Where can I preorder the DLC destiny rocks
-
This is so true. Bump
-
I see this as another "Destiny is bad" bandwagon rider. I'm having fun with the game because I enjoy shooters. Yes there's not much in the way of story but it is a fun experience. If you don't like it don't play it. (It looks like he was having fun in crucible in that gameplay footage)
-
Best use of 35mins of your day. Great video. I'll never pre-order again. Only after a game receives positive reviews from other gamers will I purchase it. Join the revolution. To get a better gaming future, we must deny an unsatisfactory present.
-
If they gave you 100's of hours of missions, strikes and raids people would still complain after they no life everything in a few days. its been a little over a month and a half and I've seen people with 400-500 hours of game play. really?
-
It's 15/30 dollars, grow up. If that's breaking your bank, then I think you have bigger problems than destiny dlc. Or maybe go play COD where 95% if the game comes from DLC. Truly, people just like to complain

Turned it off as soon as I heard "….but compared to what was advertised for the past two years." Things change in production. Anyone remember this level of Halo 2? Not in the game (as it was, some bits were rehashed into what we know today), but it was shown at E3 the year before. Referencing concept art and clips from a ViDoc from early 2013, or even bits from 2013's E3 launch and saying "It's not in there, they must've lied!" doesn't factor in the amount of things that can change in a year. As we got closer and closer to launch, advertisements and demos showed more and more what the game was going to look like on September 9th. By E3 2014, we're looking pretty squarely in the mouth what we're going to get. Between then and launch, the only bits that I saw that didn't make it to the game were short clips of Guardians walking on an area of Venus that'll be part of an upcoming DLC (the "leaked," unfinished area that players have glitched into). Everything else? I can do that. I can go there. Should we scream "That's false advertising" to a Hobbit trailer for the first movie that showed a clip of Gandalf that wasn't shown until the Desolation of Smaug? No! We give it a break, because it was the first trailer, long before the movie came out. And so it is with Destiny. We shouldn't look at old footage and say, "Well, they obviously lied," but rather, "Whoa, something must've happened in production that changed that cool thing from last year."

Yeah...except the whole thing is see....I like this game...and I don't give a shit about the $20 or the unrealized "promises"...sooo...probably gonna buy it
