I've been playing this game almost exclusively since launch, and while I have been really enjoying myself, I have to say this guy makes some pretty interesting speculation. If I had to bet on anything it would probably be that the dumbing down the game to appeal to a larger market is pretty accurate.

I think its a mix of that, the console gap he explains after that about how many people are actually transitioning to new gen consoles. Then also the fact that Activision knew how to manipulate the market in order to get more money by gutting the game. Which he also explained.
