Welcome to VoG Tours. Just joined? Read this!

Hey. You're here because you expressed interest in joining up with Vault Of Glass Tours because you like the idea of taking groups of first time and inexperienced guardians through the raid and teaching them how it works. Our main misson here at VoG Tours is to make raiders out of the guardians who haven't had a chance to try the raid so far for what ever the reason. Only thing I ask of you is to keep it fun, be patient, and do whatever it takes to get every guardian through to the end. Making it an awesome experience for the new guys is the whole point. My aim with this "group" is to be able to build the VoG Tours "brand" into something players can look to for a positive experience. I hope that people can point new players to us for their first raid experience so they can get to experience some of the best content in Destiny. I will now list out how I typically go about doing the whole thing. Feel free to change what ever you want to fit how you like doing things. How to go about it: When looking for a group on LFG or /r/fireteams, or whatever you want to use. You should probably preface it with "Vault of Glass Tours". For instance when I post on /r/fireteams I typically do something like: "[PS4] Vault Of Glass Tours: Looking for first-time/inexperienced guardians looking to learn the raid" Then you can put whatever you want in the body. I typically use a whole travel agency thing for flavor. How I run the Vault: (again tailor this to how you feel most comfortable) I typically only take 27's and higher when I do it due to the level of the enemies at Atheon. If you're comfortable taking 26's, by all means. Opening the vault: I split into 3 teams of 2. Least experienced players in the center sync plate. Adjust and cover each other as necessary. Templar: Phase 1-3 (confluxes), 3 teams of 2. Left, Middle and Right. I typically take mid because I can almost solo it with Hawkmoon. 2 mids provide help for the left and right if necessary. When legions are summoned, all collapse to mid and focus fire. Oracles: Announce call outs as oracles ping. Everyone sticks to their positions. Make sure left and right are aware of the 2 hidden oracles at back and watch for them. Everyone watch for snipers. Templar: I like to let a newbie take the relic. Make sure they are aware of the 2 good attacks: Shoot button (dash forward), and jump slam. Make sure they know to dash back and forth, not twice in the same direction, when detained. Everyone else hangs out in the back half. Teach them a good call out for firing the relic. I use "Super ready, 3, 2, 1, firing......damage!" I take the secret way by the spirit bloom chest down, easier to get the exotic chest, and more fun I think. Gorgon Maze: First thing I always do is line everyone up at the first gorgon in the middle and focus fire heavy and kill it so they get the grimoire card. Next is the chest to the right, only one gorgon to dodge so it's easy. Then I wipe to reset. Then it's up the middle and a quick shot through to the jumping puzzle. Jumping puzzle: My favorite part of the raid. I tell them "have fun" and sit and watch. After a couple deaths I'll start helping them across. I typically let them drop from the trick ledge too. XD Gatekeeper: I use the "2-4-2-2-2" strat. Once the first gatekeeper drops, I leave the 2 strongest to hold the plate. Other 4 come in with me. (I leave 3 sometimes if theyre struggling). Templar relic holder is the guy I get to take the first relic. Once out, I send 2 of the gate team to guard the conflux in the middle. I go in right with relic holder and get 2nd relic. Everyone collapse to center, relics killing the pretoreans that spawn from the gates. Atheon: Myself and the other relic holder will always grab the relic. Use your judgement to select other relic holders. Make sure inside team focuses on oracles. Make sure outside team gets vertical to dodge supplicants. Expect to wipe a few times until everyone settles into the fight. After exiting, relic goes to the island in the middle and holds open the cleanse shield, everyone inside and DPS the boss. Congratulate them on a job well done. Keep up the positive encouragement throughout the raid. It really helps. I realize this takes time and I'm not asking any of you to do this more than you can. Just run them if you have time. If all you can do is maybe once a week, that's still 5 guys a week you helped out and that's still awesome. Good raiding and if you need anything from me don't hesitate to ask!
