No, I'm not referring to Xûr selling weapons, I'm talking about identifying aspects that makes one's character unique to him or herself.
Imo, the most stupid decision Bungie made in regards to Destiny is tying player level to gear. Player level should have been EXP based like the first twenty levels instead of this get better gear nonsense.
The gear light level has lead to everyone looking the same more or less. If level was EXP based, players wouldn't have to worry about dropping levels when swapping gear.
Ms5000watts touched on this slightly in a video of hers. She stated that while yeah it's good to be level 32 and rock your CE gear, it doesn't make much since to rock it in the crucible because other gear has better crucible focused perks. The reason you don't see people swap gear is because it's almost an unspoken taboo of Destiny to intentionally drop your light level.
People like customizing their characters and standing out. It sucks running into little clones with the only differentiating factor being a shader. It also sucks that the game punishes you by dropping your level (therefore your damage output) just for possibly using gear you WANT to use that isn't max light.

This is what would have help the most: full raid gear normal set Full raid gear hard set Just like the ships have their be two sets of gear that get you to 32. It would increase replay value and ensure better various 8 gear items on top of 12 exotics leads to much better variations

Editado por Wolfy: 3/23/2015 9:23:42 PMOr they could just make more gear that gets you to max. I understand raids are the intended end game and hardest challenge, but doing so should reward you more based on unique weapons; armor meeting max level but used best only in raid scenarios. There should be rare versions of legendary engrams that contain more light obtained through strikes, chance to drop max light legendaries at a nightfall end roll, all IB gear should be to max level, and maybe even a way to upgrade bought vendor gear with more light. It would keep the entire game relevant, and everyone would get to look more unique. Cant tell you how many tines I want to sport the titan crucible chest piece with the fur neck but decide against it to keep my level up for nightfalls, ect.

Tying player level to gear is just formalizing the concept of "best in slot" from other MMOs. In world of Warcraft there was a max level but people cared more about "gear score" then level at that point. Once you get into endgame your gear matters, not level. Destiny just combines the two.

Light level doesn't effect your damage output in crucible with the exception of Iron Banner.
