Right, so you are nerfing a gun based entirely on the fact that you think it is too popular right now. In fact, you are nerfing three guns based on that convolted logic Bungie. Heck, you even say that you think that the weapons are balanced yet you are nerfing them because "people may get tired of seeing them pop up in their killscreen". What are some of those guns you ask? Why don't we have a look.
MIDA Multitool was a gun that belonged to an archetype that never received any major buffs and only a few nerfs. So when it became a more popular gun, I was half surprised and half amused about how it had gathered it's strength; through the nerfing of other guns to the ground. MIDA had always been a favourite of people, yet had been locked away from us for quite some time. So when it was released, many older players flocked to use a past favourite. It was the exact same thing that happened to SUROS regime. MIDA was never really overpowered, you even admited so in the weapon 'balancing' Bungie. It's entire popularity was based on people overstating it's popularity which led to a cycle of people using a gun/people getting killed by a gun/the victim feels the gun is too strong so complains about that gun/people read their complaints and decide to use the gun. The gun was starting to lower in popularity as well, as other weapons started to detract from the monopoly it had formed.
Next up is the sniper, 10 thousand yard stare. Do you want to know why it was so overused? Because you gave one to us Bungie. 10K stare was one out of two guns that used familar scopes (which meant we were more likely to use them) and you gave it to us in a quest which was usually completed when we had no legendaries apart from those from quests. If we use a gun alot while it is our only legendary, we start to get used to it. So if your logic for not separating PVP and PVE is due to muscle memory, why do you then get surprised when people's muscle memory gets used to one gun that they are almost forced to use for a while? Seriously Bungie? Once again, you admit it's not balanced but you still nerf it simply due to feeling it is still overpowered.
Finally we have the raid machine gun, Quillim's Terminus. Now this gun, once again, is practically handed to us. It is the only gun in the game that everyone has a good chance of getting at high light levels straight of the bat. You even admitted your infusion mechanics were crappy, which is why you are updating them. So why would we use crappy mechanics to bring up another gun to lower light than this one when this one works perfectly fine? Also rocket launchers got shafted by this raid design, forcing machine guns to be the only heavy viable which forces us to use them on bosses.
This just feels like you are punishing us for your bad decisions Bungie. You broke a meta that actually was the most balanced it had ever been, with different weapons actually managing to break to the top. and being overused for a bit before a counter is found.
A bad infusion system and only being able to deal critical damage to bosses for meaningful damage pushed snipers to the top in PVP due to them being the only guns which could deal critical damage at reasonable range. (Try killing Oryx with a shotgun, the damage fall off means that you deal only tiny amounts of damage to him.
That same critical damage focus and giving a gun out for free pushed to the top another weapon. Once again, due to your own bad choices in practically forcing us to use one weapon for a bit. We grew used to that gun, long before any reasonable substitute became available.
I could go on and on, but I have already proven my point. What you should have done was use these "balanced" weapons as a baseline, bringing other weapons up to their strength instead of dropping them down and continuing the power drop that is driving people away from the game. In end game PVE, it is almost as hard to kill a single mook as it is to kill a guardian. Those guys that are only there to act as cannon fodder for the larger enemies are actually all becoming harder and harder to kill as you decrease our power further and further with each weapons update.
So thank you for reading through my post, I hope I raised some good points for you all.

Thts Sucks Oh Well Back To Nerfed Room Temp Water.

Well its bungie. Everytime they release a dlc. People always got pissed off and they dont even bother chnaging it. I dont know why are we still playing it.
-
TL;DR: "Waah waah! I can't play the meta anymore! Daddy Bungo took away my favorite toys! Waah!"
-
I swore that of they did another round of nerfs I won't be coming back.. It's back to the DZ for me
-
They ran out of pathetic excuses to nurf things. Now there not even trying. Nurfed for being popular lol. Wow, you guys enjoy that line of thinking.
-
Anyone with a brain can easily tell the best weapons and there's no reason a few weapons should outclass everything else
-
Buff weapons for pvp, add more enemies in pve. But nooooo
-
mida was the a balanced exotic primary good for pvp AND pve !!!! they should have buffd other exotic primary's and then watch how the poularity of mida drop.... insted of giving options , they takeing them away by nerfing. start buffing weapons .

Tldr for now, but this is nothing new, friend.
-
I think ppl tend to use 1k stare because it has the highest impact, and therefore does the most dmg In pve not because it was given to us
-
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/199633146/0/0 I don't think this update is so bad.
-
Sound advice I'll send them a flashlight to dig their heads out of there ow n asses
-
Very true In addition, the power drop you mentioned defeats the point of the game. We are supposed to be badass guardians, and now Im feeling as bad as a Marine in Halo...
-
If its hard for you to kill pve enemys, you're doing something wrong Guardian.
-
Maybe let new meta see what happens because that looks so balanced
-
1k stare. Not 10k stare. Count the zeros.
-
I agree with everything but the MIDA part if you think about it a perk change isn't that bad and isn't necessarily a nerd but a neutral adjustment. And kudos for being like the first forum I've read with proper grammer and spelling

[/quote] Actually, the previous patch (before 2.1.0) was way more balanced in terms of weapon usage because shotguns and fusions were still good, not to mention pulse rifles could actually compete against handcannons. The current patch is not balanced at all. Here's proof: (left side is before 2.1.0, and right side is post 2.1.0. (now)) http://imgur.com/HVyOLIC

Editado por Halcyon: 4/9/2016 4:31:50 PMThey nerfed the zoom and the damage and stability because everyone and their grandmothers are using 1k yard stare. I agree with their philosophy on balancing weapons based on popularity (when it's done right.) But it's called 1k yard stare for a -blam!-ing reason. Not 50 ft stare...
