So, I've seen my fair share of "Petition for X, sign below" and plenty of complaints of how things haven't quite been going too well with weapons and the imbalance between how effective weapons/gear/subclasses are in PvE and PvP. People pretty much getting shafted for little to no good reasons.
Then the thought came to my mind, "Man, things might have been bad in Year 1, but at least it wasn't this screwed up."
Sure, most people just want to move on with Year 2 and leave the past behind, but it kinda leaves me wishing that it didn't end up this way.
So, one thought was what if for an entire month we switched back to Year weapons, armor and light in the Crucible? If the majority of players in a match were using such gear and weapons then we'd pretty much be around the same level on the playing field. Most of the better stuff was from VoG too so it would stem up a lot of good 'ole raid reruns and it would totally mess around with the guys who handle all of the weapon usage/PvP match data. Something sort of around the lines to tell the devs to get back on track and stop mucking around. Unlike those previously mentioned "petitions" that we so often see on the forums this could actually work if it was implicated. Just one whole month of Year 1 in Crucible matches.
A stupid idea sure, but not one that is improbable of working.
Thoughts on it all?
