Is Riven an Ahamkara?

I've seen a few articles claim Riven is an Ahamkara, but do we know for sure? What gives me doubts about Riven being an Ahamkara is that the body/head look nothing like you would expect it to look like from the Ahamkara bones/skulls we've had on our armor. If Riven is a wish dragon, then why does the body bear such little resemblance to the shape of the bones?

  • <Riven is an Ahamkara. What you saw was an aspect, similar to "___ of Crota" or Oryx or, recently, Savathun. Or, easier to explain, a Chimera.>

  • There’s a lore piece that literally says she is an Ahamkara and she is talking with Mara.

  • Riven is defrocked a wish dragon. Look at Uldren all through the story. Wearing armor and scales. Guardians know that even the scales can cause hallucinations and the dragons will whisper to the wearer and go mad. Guardians only ever wear a small piece and even then some coated the bones in silver to block the sounds

    • This cannot be. This Riven is nothing more than a child’s story. All the Ahamkara in the system were driven extinct by City forces during the Great Hunt; no wish-dragons remain alive in our system. Of this you can be assured, oh reader mine

If you go to the Ishtar collective and search Riven and click on the reading “Tellic II” you will read “It was Mara alone who established a covenant with that young Ahamkara, which chose the use-name Riven, in honor of its host.” Yes riven is a dragon. To also explain why their bones look all different is because they can shape shift. From The reading “Throne“ “There, Lissyl and Sedia augured the first borehole with the help of Riven, who had taken the shape of a needle-nosed basilisk”

      • Spoilers: Yah, she is. You can pretty easily read about it in the Ishtar Collective if you find my word to be insufficient proof.

      • Ahem.....Spoliers. I've completed the campaign, but not everyone has.
I doubt he's an Ahamkara....but I think he's showing that the conflict we're engaged in is much older and much wider than just the races we've been battling for the last 4 years. I suspect that Riven is some being that is a servant of the Darkness or the Deep that has somehow become trapped in the Ascendant Realm....and was taking advantage of the chaos that Oryx's death has created. to stage his own jailbreak. Remember one of his lines to Uldren is, "Even Paradise is a prison if you can't leave."
• What body? What head? The Voice Of Riven is completely separate to Riven herself. It’s known that she’s an Ahamkara throughout the lore in game and out.

        • I really hope we see some cool boss designs. And not a floating servitor with tentacles.

          • I believe Riven could very well be an Ahamkara. Uldren seems to be wearing scales similar to those on armor related to the Ahamkara, and Mara’s dialogue fits in with their common phrases. Also, it’s important to note that the boss you fight is labeled as “The Voice of Riven,” not actually Riven, so it could have simply been some kind of physical projection or something. On a more comical note, I saw the tentacles in the cutscene and thought to myself, “Okay. Can’t wait to fight THAT in the raid,” assuming that was the end of the campaign. Then I went straight into the boss fight and realized, “Oh, not part of the raid.” Just wanted to share that.
