Another week going by with more information coming up for Destiny. Here are some great quotes of information from Staten from this interview:

"In the same way we're making your heroic story, your legend, that carries over into the cinematics. You're the star of the cinematics as much as you're the star of your own heroic tale," design director Joe Staten tells IGN. "So if you're playing in a co-op way, we're not going to do that crappy thing that happened in the old Halo games where, if you're playing co-op, you don't show up...you're not the primary role."

"Putting a history into the world was extremely important, something you felt you were fighting for, the civilization that was once yours that's fallen, that's trying to recover," Staten continues. "But it also goes to player choice, too, and not just choices you'd get in a Halo game, the moment to moment of how I'm going to take apart this encounter, what's my combat toolset?" This expands to characters, Staten emphasizes, in the tiniest and most significant ways. "What kind of character do I want to be in the world? Do I want to be a man or do I want to be a woman? That's a choice we never gave someone in the Halo games."

"The goal with everything in Destiny is to continue to add to the world, but we still haven't figured out exactly what that means in terms of a cadence," says Staten, "but given our plan to build this big world and then evolve it over time, we're absolutely going to have some cadence for that.”

"Way more characters than we had in the Halo games, I think with all our systems, most of them are brand new from the ground up, and that includes our AI and the way we script character behavior," Staten explains. "Our goal is definitely to give people as diverse a combat experience as possible. Hopefully we’re able to pull that off."
Some great stuff here, knowing that I can be playing with my buddies and I'll see my full characters in all the cutscenes. Love Staten interviews. PS, don't mind the publishing date, it's real.

I can't wait to get another look at this game at E3.

Editado por A 3 Legged Goat: 4/2/2013 9:11:12 PMThis game is sounding more and more of what I've wanted Halo to be. I wanted a game driven by players where the story molded and shaped itself because you were there to make it happen. I wanted a game where you could be anybody you wanted and still be significant to that story. I wanted a game where you could get lost within it because of all the AI to fight, all the missions to complete, the large worlds to explore, the real-time settings, and the players to interact with. This is sounding like the ultimate co-op MMO (but not MMO) experience on a console, and the fact that all of Bungie is on it in full force makes me elated. My body is ready.

Lots of characters? I didn't find halo lacking. If anything, it made them better for it. You related to them more. Imagine if there 50 sgt johnsons. All of them badass, but none of them memorable.
-
You're late, and great, nothing new.
The what and how of your battles as that character is important to Bungie as well. With four enemy races, each with varying unit types, Destiny's numerous foes need to be individually interesting -- if not, you and your pals would essentially fight the same enemy AI in a different skin.
I hope that we'll see some conflicts between the 4 races. I loved seeing the flood, covenant and sentinels fight it out in Halo.

I think Bungie are putting so much thought into this they really cant go wrong with any of it, just wish we could see game play
"So if you're playing in a co-op way, we're not going to do that crappy thing that happened in the old Halo games where, if you're playing co-op, you don't show up...you're not the primary role."
That makes me happy because I play splitscreen quite often.

It's going to be interesting to see how the game world changes over time, and how much we influence that change. Also, if the changes from all linked between consoles. Nice knowing our characters are always involved in the story. Cutscenes and all.
Do I want to be a man or do I want to be a woman? That's a choice we never gave someone in the Halo games.
Looks like someone didn't remember Reach.

Can't wait lol
-
Well, I think the fact that it's made by Bungie is reason enough to why Destiny will be better
-
I'm glad they're going back into their previous games and improving on aspects that they didn't quite hit very well.

Editado por Setter: 4/7/2013 4:55:55 PMThe more information that comes out about this game the more I want this game! :D Thanks for the post Spawn.

Bungie is putting a lot into the history of the world. The way that it looks, how it will change, how we change it. To have a badass character who looks badass, but moves in a static world, shooting the same guys in the same place, well. To have a changing world that evolves and looks like "wow look at that", I want to go there. To have the art drive the story and story to drive the art, then I get to shoot things. Sign me up.

While I don't want to suggest that the game is better or worse than Halo, I must point out that Staten's essentially just saying that Halo never had RPG elements. Of course the game will be better at being an RPG than Halo- Halo never was an RPG.

Nothing too big, but still keeps looking better and better. My only concern about the male/female stuff in cutscences is we'll be attached to ourselves and not some awesome character. I'd rather be really excited about the next chapter in some epic universe with characters I actually want to see again and all that. Customization is great and all, but what's to look forward to?

Sounds like Destiny won't have the discontinuity of the Halo cutscenes, where your weapons in the cutscenes were totally different than the ones you were actually playing with.
