Wow.
I was more correct than I thought, Bungie really did take away far more from Destiny than they expanded in a bid to force people to buy their shit-tier DLC. Read 09-15-2015 Destiny: The Taken King for all the info.
But let's get on to some of the finer points:
General
Character:
* Max level cap is now 40 (Requires The Taken King [but we knew about this -blam!-ing since last week]) [so, if you don't buy, you're forever stuck at level 34. More on all that has been removed from you will be listed below...]
* Even if you're a Y1 "Founder", the "founder's Fortune" reward (Requires The Taken King). So, if you've been here since day 1, but didn't buy TTK, Bungie has nothing but a huge middle finger that they're going to shove up your butthole. You time isn't worth shit to Bungie if you don't give them more money.
*Spark of Light - ... I won't even crawl into the bullshit of this one. Needless to say, it (Requires The Taken King) *I swear, that follows after most every -blam!-ing line in their change to this game...*
Classes
Subclasses:
* Your "new sub-Class", you know, the one that's had an empty slot reserved and present in the game since the Alpha? Yeah... (Requires The Taken King)
Activities
Vanguard Strike Play Lists
*All of the Strike playlists have been removed. If you don't buy TTK, you're left with one (1) Strike playlist to enjoy. That's it. Just one (1).
*The Legacy Strikes don't even reward you with Legendary Marks. Nope. The (requires The Taken King)
Daily Heroic Missions
* Required Level: 40
* (Requires The Taken King) I'll bet you saw that coming by now. Still, for those people who liked to do the regular missions on a slightly tougher level, it's gone. Locked behind the pay-wall. So, that's more content gone.
Nightfall
* discussed in-depth over the last two to three weeks, Bungie has -blam!-ed you out of yet more content that you already paid for. Needless to say, but I will anyway: "I -blam!-ing told you so, haters."
Crucible Here's where it gets really good...
* Year 2 Crucible is now in effect.
* Remember all of those different play lists that the PvP crowd used to enjoy? (Requires The Taken King) Surpised? I don't know why you would be at this point...
* Year 1 players who don't buy TTK are left with only three (3) play lists. "Classic 6v6, Classic 3v3, and a Classic FFA (Free For All). That's it.
* No Control, No Clash, Skirmish, Salvage, Rumble, or Elimination. All of those (Requires The Taken King).
So... did you leave anything to Gamers who won't buy TTK, Bungie!?
Answer: No. You left a hollow shell of a game in order to force people into buying your content lacking DLC.
Now; there will be some people who'll look at this list and see it as "look at how much Bungie is offering with TTK, Vampire!!! You're insane for making Bungie's butthole's collectively pucker with your incessant ranting!" However; aside from a pathetically small Campaign, The Court of Oryx (which is where the real Elitism will begin), and an armory that is three-times smaller than what they took out from the Base Game, TDB, and HoW; all of these things WERE ALREADY IN THE GAME!!!
They just took away most everything in the game (easily two-thirds of the base-game and DLC content that you've already paid for has been ripped away from you) and placed it all behind a new pay-wall.
All of this was already there. You've already paid for it. They took away content that you were enjoying all the way up to yesterday, and stuck it behind a pay-wall. You must pay more money to enjoy 2/3's of the game that you've been enjoying for the last YEAR.
Anyone want to doubt me now on how badly Bungie has been -blam!-ing over all of their Gamers?
Because I've been warning everyone for quite some time now. As have great members of this community like CarnivalLaw, Malphisto, Lost Sols, N7, Mortargrunt06, and the list goes on. We've tried to educate you and warn you all. Our eyes have not been clouded by Bungie's fog of lies and trailer-hype. We've tried to get the word out, and now everything we've warned you all about has become all too true.
Here's my contributions to trying to warn you all before this travesty arrived:

Isn't it funny how much equipment was removed in these "expansions"?
And I could dig even further back into even more archived threads I've made trying to warn everyone. If I included the threads of the other Forum members that I've mentioned, this list would go on for days.
But The Taken King is here. The game and activities you've already paid for ha had 2/3 of it's content eviscerated and disemboweled, then put behind a pay wall that you have to shell out another $40 USD to enjoy that content (that you've already paid for). Bungie has taken Destiny and turned it into an ocean a thousand miles wide, yet only a foot deep.
When will you all see what Bungie is doing?
When/what will be "the straw that breaks the camel's back"? How long will you accept consumer abuses that are being heaped upon you in this manner?
Think on that, and discuss it below.
Sincerely trying to educate the Gamers around me,
Vampire Nox

TRUTH BOMB. Epic post, Nox. Love it. I've got two currently in the works. I wanted to hold back and see for myself what all TTK has to offer and what the impact is on those of us who chose NOT to purchase the expansion. I've been responding to posts and comments that others are making and have given my thoughts on things, but I'm saving most of what I have to say for these posts I have in the works. Suffice to say, people aren't really missing out on anything. And for those who didn't buy TTK, there's no point in continuing to play the base game anymore. Them $40 would be better spent on something much more deserving of our time and money.

This feels like an elaborate joke. What are Bungie thinking? Where is all the content I paid for?

*shakes head* Damn you Bungie.

Truth.....if they keep going like this, Destiny should have about 9 players in 9 years....its a shame when a company treats their customer base like a bunch of zombie addicts; I just hope they see TK roll over as an example of what NOT to do to keep a game with such potential alive. I wouldn't mind paying 15 or 20 every three months for DLC that is digitally up-gradable to newer consoles (TK is none of this); its all about customer convenience and good budget management to keep your base and business alive .....anything else leads to a panic; when you panic you make mistakes; this roll over was a mistake. https://www.google.com/search?q=Activision+stoc&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I happen to agree with both sides of the argument. It's normal for a MMO's to produce new content that makes old content unusable. I think most reasonable people can agree on that fact. I also don't necessarily have a problem with the price tags attached to the DLC's. Other games do this, I'll use COD specifically in this case because it most closely resembles what Bungie has done. Usually they put out a couple DLC's in the year, and then next year release a completely different game(the Taken King in this case can be considered to be the new game) at a $60 price tag that makes everything you've done in the previous game worthless and you'll buy the new COD because the gameplay and fresh new maps and style is addicting. If you want additional content, you have to pay a price. Bungie can't just keep paying their staff money to make new things for free. It's a business. Now think about it - $80 a year is pretty much equivalent to what a lot of MMO's charge on a yearly basis. Back in the day I used to play Runescape and payed a $5.00/month membership which is $60/year. Whether you pay on a monthly basis or in 3 different chunks, the company is getting their money and in return producing additional content for you. (I happen to much prefer the subscription method) I am hugely disappointed with TTK's story line, and I've completely given up hope that they know how/care to write an actual story. At first I thought they could fix this because they created the masterpiece that is Halo. However, where they completely suck at writing story, they make up by gameplay that's unmatched in any other game IMO. That is why I purchased all 3 DLCs. I can't judge too hard on the TTK just yet because I've only just finished the story. However, I think most peoples complaints involve taking away the original game from people who bought it a year ago to a shred of dust. As someone who dedicates his time to try and completely see both sides of the argument, I don't think there is anything anybody can say that can justify taking away content from a game they sold. Honestly when I first realize how much they took away I thought it was borderline illegal. It's like buying a car from a dealership and a year later they come and take away your engine and replace it with some piece of shit ford engine. They literally took away content they sold to you a year ago. It's such bad business practice it's unbelievable. With all this said, I think there's a chance Bungie reverses some of this and allows players without the DLC to play the same content again - it wouldn't surprise me. However, the fact they even thought this was okay is just disguising. I HATE seeing the video game industry come to this. It's so frustrating.

Just finished the BBB complaint. It was long-winded but fair and I think explained the problem thoroughly.

I love how after a while some of these threads disappear.

Editado por Bad Wolf: 9/16/2015 3:36:23 AMBump, the sad part people like you and me probably bought this game because of our love of Bungie and it's previous game, and the image of Bungie we had in our youth is forever tarnished. As for the good, there are two possible scenarios, the first is scenario: is that TTK is financially successful, and in a few months if Bungie would be pushing their next expansion hard, and encouraged by the lack of repercussions for their shady business practices, they try to wring even more money from their remaining die hard apologists and they screw over the fanboys even worse. The second scenario: is that TTK isn't a financial success, and we get to see them scrambling to see Bungie and Activision scrambling to save their new IP to ensure a successful launch of Destiny 2, either way we get the last laugh. So Chin up brother.
-
Bump. I'm hoping Bungie gets taken to task over this, because it's -blam!-ing disgusting. Boy, did they ever get the title of this DLC right.
-
I completely agree and I am not paying for this crap anymore
-
They went all in. It's insane lol. I want to say I'm not surprised but really, it still blew my mind when I saw those update notes about the lockout. Logged in, everything good is gone. Logged out, removed disc from system, placed in CE steel book, tossed in a dark corner of a bookshelf.

Editado por SerDannoRanAway: 9/15/2015 9:35:29 PMI think they are moving towards a subscription model. I would put money on the idea that with the launch of year three (at the latest) content will only be available if you pay $XX/month. You watch, pay the monthly fee or you are instantly locked out. As for TTK, I have several friends who didn't listen to me and bought the DLC. They literally finished the entire story campaign in a couple of hours. They say the story-telling is improved, but still has a very long way to go to match other AAA titles. $40 and done instantly ... wow. They like the new sub-classes, but they say it is not $40 of content. We'll see what the raid delivers, but with the glitches they've seen so far (like a rewards system that is still broken by glitches like ... not receiving a reward) they say they are nervous that major bugs will plague it like they did with Crota. Thus far, glad I didn't buy and nothing I've seen so far has changed my mind. Edit 1: I don't think subscription would work here. For WoW, it works because they provide huge amounts of content with each release. No way anyone can blaze through a WoW DLC is an hour. Destiny? My friends who bought TTK are already done with the story on all three characters. No one will pay a subscription for such a pittance of content.
-
Couldn't of said it better myself. Infact, I am not even going to bother buying TTK. It cost me $70 to buy it at EB Games and then Bungie want to charge Australian users $70 again for a upgrade that seems to just downgrade after paying it.
-
What an ass hole company.
-
I'm glad I quit a month ago. Been teetering off the forums as the weeks go by too.
-
They are crooks now. They can't even improve on the game they stole from the Bungie founders they ousted.
-
BUMP and thanks

All these trending topics and CMs only respond to the closeted desticle
-
Im angry that it is $70!!!!!!!!!
-
FFA is Rumble and 6v6 is clash and 3v3 is skirmish. classic means there's nothing special to it. Elimination is a special version of skirmish and you don't get that. You keep the basic gamemodes except for clash.

Editado por Dexodrill: 9/16/2015 4:13:10 PMWell im rather unhappy with alot of things and that's even with my purchase of TTK. I picked it up due to the fact that I find Destiny as a fun enjoyable shooter compared to others I dare not mention out of respect for those who would sit here and rant at me for complaining about there favourite game. Honestly they need to bring back the old strike playlists, having the VERY limited number of playlists available now is insulting. Having many things stuck behind the TTK DLC is also insulting but some things I can understand IF it wasn't for the fact that they basically ripped all the original content out and replaced it with around 10% of what was already there. Not impressed by the fact that we have to put up with twinklebot.... he's a god Dam pansy and we need a mute for him ASAP. Honestly I do enjoy the expansion of the level system, and the new gear but really... why cut it out from the core game. You don't see other MMO's (Yes this is classed as a MMO shooter) dropping content on people who don't buy their DLC's... sure maybe the level cap but not removing playlists ect. I'm exceptionally annoyed with the fact that matchmaking is still restricted to an extremely limited number of options... Come on let us try to do things a little tougher with random's. Integrate a Looking for Group system such as the one GuildWars 2 implemented to fix that exact issue. I could go on but much of what iv said or what I would say is already out here and being rebuffed by others. If you like the way things have changed then good for you, but it appears that many if not the good majority of the player base is responding negatively and we have yet to even go past the first day of TTK. If you want to try and lash out at me due to my opinion... why? Im only stating my opinion and im not attacking you or your beliefs. I purchased and have played some of the TTK and I still feel this way, Im not targeting anyone. In short... I hope things change or by the next DLC ill have played my fill and wont feel like returning. Overall TTK is nice... if you purchased and can put up with the changes to strikes, Heroic missions(daily or otherwise) or the GOD DAM ANNOYING TWINCLEDINKLEPUSSBOT OF A SO CALLED GHOST... for gods sake the ghost came and found our dead body in the beginning to resurrect us to fight, he cant be that much of a wussy. Anyways .... yea.

Epic https://youtu.be/6xZUGVLCLYA Bump!!!! I've been saying the same thing. As the one poster said, in a few weeks players will start getting bored with it. Halo 5, Assassin's Creed, and a few others will hit the shelves and that will hammer Nerfstiny's player base even more.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Bungie, if you're reading this, PLEASE give us our content (which we already paid for a year ago) back. And also please remove the level cap for non TTC owners. Capping us at 34 makes pretty much all of the vendors and everything new we get unuseable. There's absolutely no reason to reduce the amount of content we currently have because we didn't pay for some new DLC.
