I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm finding that Thorn is the most effective solution to dealing with all the hard scopers who are plaguing the Crucible right now. Nothing gets people moving like Mark of the Devourer. Some will be brave and still snipe at you anyway but the majority duck into cover when their screen turns green. Don't get me wrong, I do my fair share of sniping and by no means do I think that snipers are truly balanced. However, seeing as it doesn't seem like Bungie is intent on changing the way they work, I have seen the power of the dark side and have changed my position when it comes to the most controversial exotic weapon this game has ever seen. For those who vehemently stand fast that Thorn is a crutch weapon, I would also say that it is by no means easy mode anymore. HoW era Thorn was garbage but the current version of it, dare I say, seems kind of balanced now.
