The 2nd amendment is made for war

No, really. It's made for war, but not with other countries. It is not made for defending our homes or in the case of an invasion, no. It was made to go to war with our neighbors. The primary purpose of the 2nd amendment is to overthrow the government in the case that it has become corrupt. It's a right set in place to fight for all of our other rights as an american citizen. I voted for Bernie Sanders for the primaries. Yes, I even wrote in his name knowing damn well that he wouldn't win, but I stood by my beliefs and stood against the level of corruption that is and was Hillary and Trump. And people may disagree, but i think Bernie was astonishingly better than the two imbeciles we were dealt. And based on my vote, I may not seem like your average Gun Supporter. But I will stand beside the second amendment when all other pieces of the constitution are overruled. Supporting the second amendment is supporting a takeover of a corrupt government. It should be the last right taken from you, not one of the first.

  • The Second Amendment was created primarily because the constitution was written around the time of the Enlightenment, and one of the beliefs of the Enlightenment was giving citizens the ability to overthrow their government in the case of corruption or infringement upon "natural rights", which was also a popular concept at the time. Not really adding anything to the discussion, just kind of agreeing and echoing what you said.
