The dominance of the XB 360 led to nearly 10 years of stagnation in console gaming. Being able to get more powerful hardware is never a bad thing, unless it leads to a fractionation of the market. (IOW, PS5 can't play PS4 games, and vice versa) Though I think we've seen the end of this in the console market. I think consoles are going to be more like PCs going forward. Every few years we get a significant upgrade in hardware....and the ability to run better versions of the same games as a result.
