Hey all,
Yesterday, we announced the goal of removing time pressure associated with Glory ranks, and that Pinnacle Crucible rewards will be awarded via quests starting in Season 4.
Redrix’s Claymore will remain exclusive to Season 3. The Redrix’s Broadsword will be available through a pinnacle weapon questline in Season 4 offered by Lord Shaxx. To set expectations, here are the quest steps that must be completed in order to acquire Redrix’s Broadsword:

im on the elemental kills and im not getting progress. why is this happening?
-
I just completed the "dead is dead" part of this quest and its sent me back to the "shape of things to come" afterwards. This step completed straight away and now I'm having to grind out 75 double plays again for "the" candidate" step. What's the deal why do I have to repeat steps? Has this happened to anyone else?
-
If I did the 5 resets a season ago, does it still count for the quest?
-
This quest appears to be broken. I have turned in 20+ crucible bounties while on this step and it is stuck on 10 of 20.
-
I don't mind grinding for a weapon regardless if its good or not. its part of the game and all of us will see things differently so I understand that we will all have different views but when engineering this quest, it is almost an exercise in perseverance rather than skill and challenge. I do like that it is not restricted to Comp PVP achievements as some folks just will never be able to take on the best of the best. If I can offer any constructive critisism it would be to vary the quest steps to different types of achievements and possibly look at including retroactive achievements.

Thanks for another way too long, super abusive, not fun grind for a not so great weapon that is meh. but its blocking forged in fire. you really like to drive people away with extreme stupid. step 4, 5, and 6 are repetitive, generally boring, and completely unnecessary. Someone needs to update this game and how it values its players time. This is what makes people take breaks from the game ...again and again and eventually forever.
-
So I need to get a pinnacle PvP weapon to get my MMXIX title. I don't really PvP on a regular basis but I don't mind it, so I never really completed one of these. I saw that I already had some of the pulse rifle kills done from the last IB so I figured I'd try to get this done before Shadowkeep. Then I read that I have to work on these steps independently, which basically means I have to repeat the same step 8ish times. Uhhh...nope. See you Oct 1.

Also, I hear people complaining about the quest being difficult. I just grinded rumble for 2 hours and won every match (except for two of them, I came in second but it still counted as a win so I kept the win multiplier). In those 2 hours I was able to get 2k valor reset my valor. This might sound snobby but if you are complaining then you must not be good at crucible. If you are bad then consider playing at very late hours like 2-4 A.M on a Sunday night. Legit half the games you'll play will have 2 or 3 inactives and really bad players. The other fourth will be all bad players and the last fourth will be good players. So basically just use very meta weapons like last word, bygones, and snipers like the beloved and submachine guns like the recluse. P.S have you considered not getting the gun also?

NOT worth the effort. It's weak in both PVE AND PVP. Take it from someone who's done the grind. Rodrix broadsword is mediocre, especially considering the amount of effort it takes to earn it. It's not that powerful and it's suuuper slooow. My opponents are constantly getting away right when I've got them on the last sliver of health, or they get killed by someone else. And the sights are poorly designed. I get muuuch better results from Bygones which isn't even masterworked. The only thing Rodrix has going for it is Desperado and outlaw, which increases the rate of fire and reload rate for a few seconds after you land a precision kill. It's a nice perk but it runs out so fast it rarely gets any use.

As of Season 6, does anyone know if valor rank resets will count towards step 8 before you are at step 8? ex: I reset my rank 3 times before step 8, the next day i get to step 8 and it will say 2/5 rank resets
-
Is it really "reset your valor rank 5 times in a single season"? If so then i wasted my time. I thought it was a combined 5 thru all seasons. I don't play much due to work, 5 days a week, 12 hour days. And i only play on weekends. It seems that i wasted my time trying to get the broadsword
-
Exactly who decided it would be a good idea to make certain quest steps non-retroactive? I get that it's supposed to be a grind...But you've already made it enough of a grind with the 5 resets. Let me have my 150 headshots and element kills while doing the 200 kills.
-
I’ve reset 4 times this season but there’s no green progress tracking in the quest icon. Is that normal?
-
I haven’t reset yet but I am ready to. I’m working on my precision kills. If I reset now will it count towards the 5 resets even though I’m not on the step?
-
@bungie Give us a straight answer and FIX YOUR SHIT
-
6 valor rank resets. Completed triumph. Still 0/5. As an avid rpg player and sole PvP player. This was the icing on the cake for destiny. Literally no better reward than disappointment
-
ok so i just want to have this clear for me, ive had the quest in my inventory since season 4 started and i got all 5 and even more resets last season and, actually started getting all my kills double plays matches and everything this season, and i just want to know, is the quest retroactive with the quest in our inventory or on the quest step.
-
Hi everyone. I am one of those that reset'd the rank 5 times before the quest step. I'm also one of those that completed the bounties step on the 26th. English is not my first language and I'm not a scholar but since the last step of the quest says that I need to reset my rank valor WITHIN A SINGLE SEASON and I've completed the triumph "Right Back At It Again", which indicates that I've made those 5 resets IN A SINGLE SEASON, I would say it's a match. 1 - Can you please explain why it didn't count for the quest when step 2 was retroactive? 2 - Can you please explain why in some reported cases it was retroactive but not all? 3 - Are you willing to say that you will not give the weapon that so many people fought hard to get, just because you didn't explain the step correctly?
-
Do you have to complete the 20 bounties after making it to that step or does it count past bounties? Just trying to decide if its worth it to keep trying to finish or just wait for the next season to restart
-
Did all that and the quest still says "reset 5 times" What happens now? I'm not grinding 5 resets again - especially as I already have the triumph
-
Boulogne. The quest says reset 5 times in "a" season. Not this season. This step should be attached to the triumph. Alot of people wasted their time. And why? Because there was a post on Twitter that said so. That's garbage.
-
Ok check this...ive reset 5 times this season however, the 27th is in 2 days and i dont have the bounties done. Will i have to redo resetting my valor 5 times in a new season since i didnt complete the entire quest in season 4? Basically...does everything carry over to the new season?
-
If I reset my Valor rank 5 times, but won't be able to complete the preceding quest steps 5, 6, and 7 by reset 11/27, will I have to reset my Valor rank 5 more times next season?
-
Will it still be available in Season 5?
-
If I have reset my rank 5 times in a single before I can finish the quest will it still auto complete if I get to that quest step in a different season?
