Anyone going to watch the 24 Hours of Daytona this weekend (another car thread)
Anybody?
I know the volume of car related posts has dropped here since the Purge 2.0, but just seeing if anyone (new or old) gets into the beginning of the new racing season.
I've been ready since the last season ended.
Friday is the BMW Endurance Challenge at Daytona, consisting of Grand Sport and Touring Car classes
Saturday - Sunday is the Rolex 24 at Daytona
Feb 9th begins Speed Weeks at Daytona for stock cars.
Feb. 9 - ARCA
Feb. 10 - The Clash (All star race for NASCAR Cup series)
Feb. 10 - Daytona 500 qualifying
Feb. 14 - Duels at Daytona (2 qualifying races)
Feb. 15 - Truck Series race
Feb. 16 - Xfinity Series race
Feb. 17 - Daytona 500
I know it's likely that most here don't care. I don't follow stick and ball sports, and this is my sport of choice to follow (most asphalt, 4 wheel racing).
Are there any other gear heads still here?
If so, what series of racing do you follow?
What teams, cars, or drivers do you like?

Well, not the outcome of the race I was hoping for in GTLM, but having Fernando Alonso's team win in DPi was cool. On to Daytona Speed Weeks in 2 weeks!

Rolex, Super GT, WRC and the occasional NASCAR race (when I'm with friends that want to watch or the local race is going on). I always set aside time (and save up on sleep!) to watch LeMans, Daytona & Sebring though.

I knew a teacher who was obsessed with Moto GP... Not so much with cars but man did he know shit about motorcycles...

I'm one of those folks who don't see the "sport" in racing. My whole family was heavily into it growing up. Many of them owned cars (late models) and raced locally every weekend. I even sat in the pits at the 500 many years ago. I just never found the appeal of it. But I wont poopoo on anyone who does.

I'm still a gearhead, still building engines and whatnot. I used to be a big fan of racing, I dont dislike it, it just got a little boring for me.

Varvatos Vex is definitely going to watch it. His favorite racing is Indycar, and his favorite driver is Will Power, he just so happened to win the Indy 500 last year, a most glorious accomplishment!!!
