I can't tell you how many times now I've just had someone sitting afk during the entire duration of a strike. Can we PLEASE get an AFK timer/kick system so someone who's Actually willing to play the game can backfill?

Every strike has checkpoints. If a player hasn't progressed to a checkpoint with their strike mates, give them 5 seconds to get there/catch up; otherwise they get booted.

Imagine being so lazy you're too lazy to play video games.
-
What my friend and I would do back in D1 was just sit around in front of the afk dude since we moreso play as a means to chat and use the game as background. The AFK person would get pissed and eventually leave, or come back 15 minutes later, realize the strike hadn't finished, threaten to report US, and then run away when they realize how stupid they sounded.

I wish we had what Valve put in Left 4 Dead. What they did is you can vote to kick a player, and if a majority of the team agrees, that player will get kicked. Granted, I can easily see this being abused hard, so it will need to be tweaked a bit.

There is an AFK kick timer for Strikes. It's possible that they were just messing around instead of helping the team. I'll give the team feedback that this kick system could be improved. Thanks for the suggestion.

THE WALL-WALK PREVENTS THE AFK TIMER On console, you can put your controller down as your character walks into a wall. This will prevent any AFK timers. If you see someone doing this, go slide into them. They will stagger and stop. They will get booted shortly after.

if a person went afk right at the beginning of a strike i would mess with them by ramming them into walls with my sparrow and just generally screwing with them i also wouldn't revive them either this was in destiny 1.

Nothing in a video game is more important than simply having fun. With that said, I used to mess with these people for entertainment. See somebody that looks like they are going to be afk? I make some forward progress just to make sure they aren't simply swapping out gear, dropping Boons or Medallions, etc... and then playing 'catch-up' to get back with me (I have no issue with that happening :) ). If I still see they have not moved, I'll hang out and have dance parties in front of them, go off into some other area of the map or go ahead and continue into the Strike... S l o w l y. Slowly drag them all the way to the boss and then do everything I can to put minimal damage on the boss. I'll drag the thing out as long as I possibly can and still have fun. The occasional salty message I would get from them would only add to the entertainment value of the shenanigans. I'd probably still handle it this way, but it's been a long time since I had an afk'er in a strike.

An option of a non matchmaking strikes would help this a lot
-
how about a tether system ?
-
Obviously you don’t do strikes

Person with the same profile photo unite!

There already is one.

I do 5 strikes a week. 3 for the weekly milestone, 1 for the daily powerful engram, and 1 100k nightfall. If I wasn't trying to get to max light, I wouldn't do them at all. They're underwhelming. Bungie had it right before D2. Strikes used to be fun in D1 with amazing modifiers like small arms and specialist, before and even after skeleton keys, there was the possibility of strike specific weapons and armor, not useless sparrows and ghost shells. Loot being locked behind Nightfalls makes strikes dumb. Bring back D1 strikes loot system.

Did two strikes earlier where one guy didn’t leave spawn then did the drink tea emote when me and the other guy finished the strike
-
Had some guy afk the who strike with his friend. We get close to final boss and I wait for them and I received a kick with no warning...... No wonder I do not do strikes at all. Playing this game less and less.
-
Who even does strikes.....are they even relevant.
-
timer wont work for people using macros and bots to jump and shoot.
-
No. - Bungie
-
Who can't solo a strike?
-
Vote to kick would be horribly abused, but I do agree that something is up with the timer. Like someone else said maybe if you die and respawn or you’re pulled to your team that counts as movement when it shouldn’t?
-
Are you actually kidding? Someone put this post into the irrelevant folder.
-
the strikes are easy enough to 2 man or solo it just takes longer and forces you to play better.

Editado por BraddyBo: 3/15/2019 5:29:37 PMAfk for 45 seconds should result in kick in any matchmade activity. Rubber banding or sporadically moving to avoid kick/loot loss should result in 24+ hour bans.

Or make a min 50 kills required to receive credit and rewards but does not count for those that join strikes in progress.Still will have AFK'ers but at least they will not get any rewards or credit.
