Getting Back Into This

So I took a loooooong break from Destiny shortly after the Osiris dlc came out. Been almost 2 years since I've played, so I'm easing back into things. A lot has changed and it's a bit overwhelming to be honest. Anything you all think I should know? Tips, tricks, etc? Any knowledge and help is appreciated!

  • Shouldn't of come to the forum honestly. You should go to Reddit or some other place that isn't filled with the trolls and destiny haters like on here

  • hey man welcome back! please ignore the weird salt posts suggesting you immediately uninstall the game. Forsaken really felt like the single greatest content drop Destiny ever got. I think most of the other helpful posts cover it but here's a quick list -hit level 50, don't bother infusing --finish the season of opulence quest for 690 gear -unlock dreaming city with the awoken talismen quest -check out the ascendent challenges, story missions and blind well that cycle each weak in dreaming city -if you enjoy raid content last wish and scourge of the past are fun and rewarding -if you enjoy more solo content, black armor forges and menagerie are great match made activities that allow you to grind for particular drops and have some very tasty rewards.

  • Not sure why people would downvote this. Its a legitimate question. The salt on these forums is massive. That aside. Finish the Forsaken campaign, unlock Dreaming City and get to level 50. After that (if you have the season pass) you can start the opulence invitation quest. This will reward you with a full 690 power set. At that light I would suggest checking out Black Armory first. The quests to unlock the forges are tedious but the guns are very good (pulse/machine gun/hand cannon/auto rifle to name a few). Also some very good exotics in there too (Jotunn especially). After youre done with that you can totally skip Season of the Drifter if youre not into gambit. There is a ton of grinding involved there with little reward. Save any cores that you get, do the gunsmith bounties and buy from spider when you can afford. You are probably lacking cores so do not infuse anything until you reach max light (750 now). You can do the season of Opulence stuff at 700 light, the menagerie is very forgiving and a rewarding grind. Eyes up guardian and welcome back!

    • 1. Select D2 on your dashboard. 2. Select options. 3. Scroll down to ' uninstall ' and select. 4. Thank me later.

      • Step 1: get to level 50. Step 2: do the new season of opulence opening questline to get a full set of 690 weapons and armor. It's blue stuff but you can infuse it. This will boost you to 690 straight away. Step 3: just play the game however you want. There's a butt load of powerful gear sources that'll help you move up to 750. There's pinnacle weapons to grind for. There's exotic quests to do for exotic weapons. There's all kinds of year 2 guns and armor to chase, now with random rolls. You've got dreaming city, forges, gambit, menagerie, raids if that's your thing, etc. etc. After you knock out steps 1 and 2, the world is your oyster. There's so much to do it might seem overwhelming, but just do what you want and play for fun.

        • Dont bother with quest exotics, they'll land up being nerfed at some point.

          • I'd say nothing major has changed since then, the basics for levelling etc are still the same. Anything specific you want to know as it's a broad question?
