Before I move forward with Autumn and Winter, I felt like reminiscing on my first big event series... thingy... where I first introduced Winter, since some folks weren't around back then. I've also gotten my alt back from my brother as he doesn't have time for games while juggling work and college, so I'll get around to organizing them into a tag at some point aswell, since I didn't know how to tags at the time. Anyway...words: [u][b]First, a couple things. [/b][/u] [spoiler]As I said, these were my first real entries into this crazy land. It feels so long ago, but it was apparently just last year. They're shit. I mostly winged it, I wrote the stories in one sitting with no edits, I had vague plans for the RP, and then Life happened so I dropped the plotline early. I also hadn't completely fleshed my characters out yet so there have been a few changes, but the basics are still relevant. Winter was manipulated by NotNil (Who has a name, I've just not gotten around to revealing it yet) and driven mad. Some other things will be explained in the future. I also couldn't find the posts where Winter usurped and killed Autumn, Speakers post where Winter allowed herself to die to a mutant Girraffalope Godzilla Beam. Because, no tag, and google is shit. I wanted to keep it vague enough that it wasnt straight up ripped from another source, so I did refer to myself as "The Witch Queen of Hell/the Underworld/the Afterlife/the Dead." I had established some lore stuffs for future RPs but I'd shelved them, more on that later. But yeah. Winter was a ruthless tyrant and had a massive army of Demons, Devils, Undead, and Nightmares from the Nowhere. Quick lil story on this post, Xombs was thinking about taking a break from Offtopic, so I wrote this with his blessing to sort of give him a way out and possibly back in, aswell as some evil villainy to motivate folks against Winter. I had fun writing this one. Basic summary of events: A group of Bards controlled via Charms filled the streets of the city with a song that drove everyone mad with fear! Everywhere people looked, they saw hordes of moaning zombies, but it was all in their heads. I got so many heroes of Offtopic to slay innocent civilians... Then someone sorta solo'd the whole thing in an hour with his flight, infinite supply of antimagic bombs, and small army... so I improvised and escalated! With so much death and fear, the veil between the realms of the living and the dead became thin enough for Winter to invade! Icy fissures opened up throughout the city and begun to spew forth Lesser Demons! So I pulled that outta me arse and winged it for a bit before I had to leave. The souls of that event were absorbed into a gem, which I never used because the original plan for it was to open a gate to the mortal realm and invade...[/spoiler] [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/252286645?sort=0&page=0]Xombie and Winter do a Fight[/url] [spoiler]The first story of Xombs getting tricked into giving his soul away was because he wanted to take a break from Offtopic, so I asked if he would like to Do A Thing, and so we did! For those unaware, Benaiah the Dwarf (CoolHandLuke), Xombie Xronad (Just Xronad now), and Autumn (known at the time as just Nil, or Trash Witch Nil from the Dumpster Out Back) were a party of adventurers. I had planned to write a series based on their adventures with cameos from other folks in Offtopic, but never got around to it. Maybe in the future. I still like the idea. Anyway! This was his return! The actual fight was not planned so his comment with it is deeper in the replies rather than pinned, but twas fun. [/spoiler] [url=https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/252380709]Life Happens and Plans Get Scrapped[/url] [spoiler]Last year was pretty terrible and I wasn't sure I'd have the time to continue with all the plans I had made, so I skipped ahead and spewed forth this shit story where NotNil escapes, kills Winter, and replaces Autumn.[/spoiler] [b][u]I think that's about it. Now, for those scrapped plans![/b][/u] [spoiler]After the first invasion of the city, I had plans for heroes to invade Winters realm and fight through the various levels to get to her spire, free Autumn, and take her down. From my written notes: - 1st Level was an endless desert where people would see illusions of events from their lives. Regrets, fears, failures, and such. Eventually they would come to the wall and the Lord of this level would allow them to pass, as he does not like Winter. - 2nd was a forest full of monsters and beasts, where they would be hunted until they reached the end where they would have a boss fight with the Wendigo Lord, which I eventually used in the Apocalypse event. - 3rd was basically Hell. Lowest level of the city wrapped around the Spire. A burning slum, constant riot, Fiends occasionally venturing for some fun. There was no Lord or Lady here, just various gangs fighting over scraps. - 4th is the middle district. There were three Lords here. The Lady of Desire was a Vampire that threw fancy parties and ruled from the theater. The Lord of Pain was the Flesh Sculpter. He ruled from a church of horrors where cultists modified their bodies with extra bits and steel or porcelain additions. Then there was the Lady of Roses who ruled the gardens where the many became one. Basic plan here was: 3 Locks, 3 Keys, 3 Lords. Obtain keye to advance to next level. - 5th was originally Paradise, but now it is a city in a snowstorm full of webs, giant spiders, patrolling undead soldiers, and tentacle horrors. - and 6th is the top of the Spire and the Winter boss fight! I've already adapted some of these things elsewhere, but I may use more of it in the future.[/spoiler] So, there is all that nonsense. It is terrible and I hate it, but I think I've learned from it and improved. And more importantly, now there is a thing to turn to when I reference this shit in the future, and I might.
