It’s bad enough the changes they made with the oracles but the toxicity and elitism of people in these lfg groups is unbelievable. My clan was short 2 guys so we ended up using lfg and found some people to fill the spots. These 2 guys said they had an Atheon checkpoint and ask if we could start there and they’d help us with the beginning parts after so we agreed.
Now this was our very first time in the raid learning everything and these guys had already played and made it to Atheon. So we start and their we a few mistakes but after a while we were getting the hang of stuff. All of a sudden these guys say um I don’t think we will get this done the damage isn’t enough. Now these guys were putting out similar to less damage than everyone else and were making mistakes as well. They just continued to be negative and no longer wanted to help anymore. It’s just ridiculous how people just don’t have the patience anymore to figure out where the mistakes lie, correct it and keep pushing. They rather be negative, create tension and anxiety. People want to beat the raid just as badly as these elitist pricks. Thus why raid should’ve stayed the same as it was in D1 and challenge mode should’ve had the changes.

This is exactly why I hate and don't use Lfgs.

3.7% of players have comepleted a raid on Xbox. When you create content for a group that small I wouldn’t expect too much. It’s a failure on Bungies part to not create an overall better experience.

I saw this coming when I found out VoG was coming to D2. My D1 experience was miserable, and I'm thinking about walking away at this point. Toxicity was always at 11 when it came to raids in D1, and bringing back D1 raids brings those same assholes back to the game. Those "D1 Alpha" vets who haven't put shit into D2, but brag about being a D1 Alpha vet, like they've been around the whole time. They're back, and looking for 100+ D1 clears, must have Gjall...Anarchy and double slugs...etc. Same Shit, different decade.

I haven’t raided D2 (outside of my first couple try’s at launch) for many reasons..toxicity being the big one....saw this immediately...disgusting intolerance & selfishness...bullying. Not the qualities of a real gamer or Guardian. The proficiency needed brings out the worst in players. Turns people against people for rewards. The fun is no longer there & Bungie has forgotten the overall point of gaming & raids...I think. Teamwork & fun. D1 raids, which I played weekly on all 3 characters, were challenging but balanced in comparison ...they left some room for error & a carry / new guy or two. This created an atmosphere more inclined to people helping people & fun. Sure, there were some toxic players, but not to the degree we see now. Life is to short to be around that toxicity. Hoping it changes.

And yall complain about pvpers

I only join "chill" raids, no matter how confident I am with my own skill. I'd rather do exactly what you said, spend time working on what's wrong and helping people learn, than get stuck with the obnoxious db's who will point out someone else's mistake in a heartbeat but fall inexplicably silent when it was theirs. Raids can still be fun if people are patient and courteous. But man, good luck finding 6 people with that mindset anymore.

I love the KWTD posts on only the 2nd day. Even with VoG being an old raid, with all the changes people aren’t going to know what to do.
-
If you ever need one to raid with add me.🍻

Im agree in all are you saying my friend. I complain you, believe me. Im staring 2 months ago and im feeling that too much

This is an unfair, sweeping generalisation, but the risk of toxic players is something that LFG will always have. If I see a post asking for an unreasonable number of clears, especially so soon after release, it's not worth looking into. Some people ask for absurdly high power levels, without even knowing how it works - I saw multiple people asking for 1320+ on Day 1, even though the Contest power cap was 1300. When making posts, I always make it clear that beginners are welcome - by definition, all the toxic people were inexperienced and hadn't cleared the Raid at one point in time. It's a much nicer experience, anyway. If you offer to teach people, you are guaranteed to have a team that goes with whatever strategy you know works, instead of clashing with people who insist that their way is better. Plus, they really get into it! At the end of a Raid, it's way better to hear people talk about how much fun they had and thanking you for the help than it is to see them leave without saying a word.

Raids always have elitism. If you played D1 youd be familiar with the "must have Ghalarhorn" posts. The problem is there are a lot of 1st time raiders who use the lfg boards and think they know it all because they watched a youtube video or because they got carried on their 1st raid. I run into this a lot on the lfg boards, typically its young kids.
-
at least this time round, you can actually join the teams without having the absolute rarest gun ever gjallerhorn
-
Sounds like theg wanted a carry
-
The more things change the more they stay the same
-
This is why I wish we were able to still make posts for lfg groups, that way we could put in descriptions. Meaning being able to write more than just what we can now in a title or whatever. I always put shit like.. be chill, don't leave after one wipe, newbies welcome, willing to teach, etc. Idk how that would've helped that situation but hell it did weed out asshats like that more often than not. At least for me. Hate people like that. You're not goddamn perfect and neither is anyone else 🙄

This is because of how awful most Destiny players are. People just can't seem to stay alive, put out damage, or figure out a simple mechanic. it's super frustrating. I spent 2 hours on Atheon yesterday with a group that kept shooting the wrong oracles, getting the entire group detained, calling out the wrong oracles, and only putting up 200-300k damage after 2 damage phases. This is so incredibly simple and easy and when people can't grasp it after hours it's just so frustrating. This raid is easier than Deep Stone Crypt. It's mind blowing that someone can continue to make the same mistakes over and over for multiple hours. After seeing it happen so often, you can join a new group and know after a few runs if they are going to get it done or not. It's not toxic. Time is valuable, and sitting there watching people fail for multiple hours is a waste of time.

Yeah I was going to try. Then saw LFG and decided nope. Day two of the raid and the entire LFG looks like this: VOG. Have clears. KWTD!!!!! Checking stats. Get kicked. I play PVE and PVP and I’ll take the toxic pvp community over these elitist douche bags any day.
-
Done 3 clears with my deaf clan without issues Try find good clan for end games I rarely use LFG because they too toxic I try to explain that I am deaf but I can communicate use in game text I get kicked out
-
Must have Gjallarhorn.
-
It’s the modern world🤷♂️ especially with the younger generation (I’m 41 so not a boomer). No one is friendly or helpful or patient. Trust me kids....the world is full of aholes.
-
You're using 2 people to generalize the entire LFG community... Having requirements isnt toxic. Leaving a group that is underperforming isnt toxic.
-
My man it has always been like this. At first it was 'you had to have ghally", then 'blackhammer' or 'swordbearer' or '100 clears on day one' or some other stupid requirment - it never changes.
-
My god it like d1 year 1 all over again. Elitist vod lfg requirements. And 90% of the player base upset. Good job Bungie. At least they are consistent.
-
Raiding groups were bad enough in d1, but manageable. Forget d2 raiding. I'm too old to listen to people smoking weed, talking shit, and being demanding. With the token system added, I realized as early as leviathan that I don't have the patience for that shit anymore.
-
Sorry but it would have been hilarious if the raid stayed as it was in D1. After Contest Mode is deactivated the raid how it is now is already a complete push over. Dont want to imagine how it would have been without the changes 😂
