So, I wanted to do an experiment this week.
I'm a solo player, had a clan, but that broke off 2 years ago.
I still do everything in this game, I love this game, regardless if I have to LFG or not, I'll get any activity done. Wich leads me to my experiments.
I don't have any destiny playing friends, but I still wanted to share my findings with... anyone.
This week, I have played every single raid in the game.
And what I got of it was...
1 - No-Comms Raids, or Chat-only raids, are the most fun I've had in the game in 2023
I'ts thrilling to play only using small words on PC and emotes
2 - There are almost no new-playes doing raids, except for the most recent Crota release.
This is perhaps because a lot of new playes won't even check a guide to the mechanics of an encounter / boss.
3 - Old raids... I mean... almost all of them, Kings fall, VoG, Last Wish, GoS, VotD...
Are packed, and I mean PACKED with people who are so far above playing the game, they
just take the fun out of it.
Skips, skating, exploits, you name it. You basically never interact with the raid.
My breaking point was GoS, I wanted to see the flowers of the black garden again... it's been sooo long.
But the constant barrier skiping well-skating walocks would not even allow me up the
windmill to see the watterfall.
If I learned anything about this experience is that raiding is absolutely great !!
But if you're not even going to attempt to play by the games rules... why even bother
posting that LFG request.
I've had some great and some awful playsessions this week. And overall I came out the other side loathing the concept of speedrunning.
Not saying I want to touch grass... But I really wanted to se that digital garden
in the Black Heart.
Thank you for reading stranger.

I have to completely agree. It's not fun when other players only look for ways to bypass mechanics and encounters entirely. It's a big reason why I stopped raiding after lightfall.
