Edit: so no one's heard of Burstfire SMG's in real life (or even in other games) and are comparing them to sidearms while we literally have Burstfire Handcannons in the game. Truly a Destiny forum moment 🥴

Do I agree, yes. I would really rather bungie figure out what they have first. The more they add right now the harder it is to fix the game sandbox wise. We have no reason to believe they can execute that kind of thing. From a PvP standpoint: Subclass 3.0: BALANCING DISASTER, I’ll refrain from more so that I don’t write a book. TLDR: Too much utility in every ability. Most new weapon types: Needed to be nerfed into garbage because of inconsiderate design. It should not be that way. Breach loads and bows are great examples of this. They both do too much for their ammo type, and they would need a massive rework in order to be good and not wreck the game.

I don’t think they’d make it a legendary archetype (it’s a bit too close to burst fire sidearms) but it’d be neat as an exotic. Give it the damage of a 390 pulse, stick it at 450 RPM, give it a kill-based damage perk, and have it occupy a similar range to Precision SMGs.

We should've stopped at pulses as far as burst weapons go. And as for your edit, they very obviously would serve the same role and play in the same range as burst sidearms, which is what these people mean and is 100% true lol.

A burst SMG would prolly feel really nice in endgame content. Also these replies on your post are absolutely brain dead what are we doing here :L Edit: I have always like Vigilance Wing's unique 5 burst. Since the handheld guns typically get 2-3 bursts (sidearm & hand cannon), While more common pulses get 3-4 bursts. The submachine gun could fire in 5-8 maybe 10 bursts. It would be like a short range pulse but in SMG skin. I kinda want this now :(
