New account - transfer old

Hello, I've been reading on how to "unlink" an Xbox live account... Seems like a lot of trouble. I still want my gamertag to be linked to my hotmail address as I still use it. Is there any other way of transferring my xbox live stats an stuff to this account? It won't let me unlink an active profile.... Even though I hadn't signed into that one in ages. Seems kinda dumb you can't just link your account to a new profile easily.

Here's a handy link you might find useful.
Is there any other way of transferring my xbox live stats an stuff to this account?
By "xbox live stats", are you referring to your "Halo stats"? If you are, you cannot transfer Halo stats from one account to another on bungie.net. Bungie doesn't control Halo, their stats or any management. Meaning, if you change something (unlink, change GT/email etc) your stats will be lost and you can't reconnect them.
I still want my gamertag to be linked to my hotmail address as I still use it.
Ah here we go. So you have an old bungie.net account which has your xbox live account linked, which has your Halo stats linked on bungie.net, yes? Your gamertag is always linked to your hotmail (as long as the email address is the same - that won't change). You can move that email and gamertag to your new account, however you will lose your Halo stats on bungie.net that is linked to it as previously described above.
Seems kinda dumb you can't just link your account to a new profile easily.
You can move them easily, you'll just lose your Halo stats on bungie.net, since Bungie doesn't manage that anymore. If you don't care about losing your Halo stats, here's how to do it:
1. You need to create a free "dummy email" for your old bungie.net profile and link that to it. Since you're removing a Microsoft Account, I recommend making a free Gmail or PSN account. 2. Then, sign in to your old account through that "dummy email" you just created. This will now allow you to unlink your xbox live email (Microsoft account) from that profile. Do this by going into your settings and then account links. 3. Sign into your new bungie.net account, the one your posted this thread with and simply link the previous unlinked account to it.
Here's an idea if you don't want to lose your stats: If you can access your old profile, why not just change your username to your new one and use that account?
