Alright let us get this out of the way, I have been in a Bungie.net coma for over a week (I haven't been logging in). Thus, forgive my tardiness in posting this topic.
I would like to point out that the front page of Bungie.net has a News post celebrating the release of the Playstation 4. This post includes a video and announcement that playstation owners will be able to access the Destiny Beta a week sooner. I know, we have known that and that actually isn't what is bothering me. What is bothering me, is we don't have a news/blog post celebrating the release of the Xbox ONE.
Why would Bungie not celebrate the release of both consoles?
I am a Playstation 4 owner, and I was happy to see Bungie celebrate the release of my new machine. Yet, if I was the owner of an Xbox ONE or Bungie decided to celebrate the release of Microsoft's console instead of Sony's, I would be in a different boat. I find it disrespectful to many gamers and the console manufactures, to celebrate the release of a single platform.
As a Bungie fan, I wish to apologize to other Bungie and Xbox fans. I got something I didn't need. You deserve better from Bungie.

Editado por Legend To None: 12/5/2013 8:21:11 AMWell we as a Community understand how the business works. Since they are getting money from Sony and help from Activision with promoting and all. After a decade of supporting one system Bungie is trying to reach out to the other side. Atleast Destiny isn't a Sony exclusive.

Editado por Butane: 12/4/2013 7:15:25 AMPeople need to realize that there is a publishing deal between Bungie and Activision. Activision most likely controls most of the marketing strategies for Destiny, and there might be a marketing deal in place with Sony to promote Destiny first on the PS4. Think of it like a marketing deal between Activision and MS for Call of Duty. There is not a hatred there for either console, but they are probably bared under agreement from actively promoting the Xbox platform with Destiny. Bungie has stated that they are committed to optimizing each version for their own respective console, which should be more important than seeing some logo branded on footage versus the other.

Editado por shaggiedo: 12/4/2013 11:48:03 PMI hope you're not a troll, trying to reignite this favouritism stuff. If you are a troll then you're a bloody good one and I take my hat off to you, you got me. Probably going to regret this, but I think you're on the level. Sorry for the distrust - such is the level that b.net has sunk. Thanks for your thoughts. I think you have hit the nail on the head. Most PS fannies think xboxers are a bunch of whinging children, but they are missing the point. Its not about the Beta, its not about exclusives (timed or other), its not even about perceived favouritism. I'm sure most of us don't care about any of that stuff. It is about respect, its about Bungie respecting their fans (all of them). Where there is smoke there is usually fire. The fact remains, that if a large portion of their fans believe Bungie have no time for them or the console they have chosen, then at the very least Bungie have either: a pretty bad imagine problem, terrible communication skills, or a very limited marketing strategy. I've said similar things before and got flamed for them, I expect nothing different here - ib4 - "how dare you demand respect" - blah blah blah (heard the endless dribble before).

I really don't think not celebrating the xbox One is a bad thing and I do have one. Bungie is just trying to give playstation users a little more welcome, most likely until the release of Destiny. After that I'd assume we're all in the same boat as long as they don't start working with Nintendo.

Well am thankful you think about the rest of the community, tell you the truth if bungie will be promoting the PS4 more then the xbox, I think they are better of making it for just the one console. I like the game so far, just this whole picking favorites..

Maybe they didn't feel the need to celebrate the release of the Xbox One since Bungie has already been making games exclusive to the Xbox since Halo 2?

It's a long story and a lot of factors. But basically look into Bungie and Microsofts relationship before, during and after the split. People like to say that the two don't hold hard feelings but then again any reference to Bungie in a Xbox live profile is not allowed and its a bannable offense. If there wasn't bad blood then I wonder why this would be the case.
