Now, odd title, but hear me out. I started playing Doom: Eternal yesterday, and it got me thinking why I like it so much. Well, it’s because of the fast paced action and speedy movement. Okay, and that just made me think. Then, somewhere, I saw a reference to Dark Souls and it just kinda...clicked. I think I don’t like Dark Souls, because it’s a much slower game. In games like Doom Eternal or Hollow Knight with something like the Nightmare King Grimm fight, you have to keep moving, or you’ll quickly lose. There’s a bit of analysis you have to do, but this is while you’re dodge attacks after attack.
Dark Souls, you have to dodge at a slow pace, and slowly pick up on cues that show an enemies attack.
...I wasn’t intending on writing that much, but here we are!

Hmmmmm...mmmmm...hmmmm..mmmm

I really need to get around to playing doom eternal
-
Makes sense. Take Sekiro and Dark Souls as a pair. Sekiro rewards fast, aggressive playstyles. Dark Souls is intended for slower, more defensive playstyles.
-
Try Bloodborne. If you move slow in that, you're dead
-
I would recommend Bloodborne then. Also DS3 is quite fast paced but it's pretty much the reason I don't like it that much as a Souls game with all the anime weapons and whatnot.
Dark Souls, you have to dodge at a slow pace,
oho, buddy, play DS3.

so what you're saying is you like to mindlessly run through & gun down every enemy... yes.. this is what doom is the floor is made of floor
-
Depending on which Dark Souls you’ve played, it’s worth noting 3 is a bit faster than the other two (though not as fast as Bloodborne). Personally, I like both fast paced & slow paced combat. They’re both fun for different reasons.
-
Looks like Bloodborne and Sekiro might be more geared towards you. Personally, after getting over the hurdle that was Bloodborne, I found myself really enjoying DS3 and DS2, and I too like fast-paced games such as Titanfall and Doom (2016 and Eternal). I’d say start off with Bloodborne, maybe you might grow into loving the games, slowly but surely.

idk, I like both a lot
-
Now I know doom is the fast paced FPS, but nothing gets my blood pumping more than a Dark Souls Boss fight, especially when they’re difficult
-
First playthroughs of souls are pretty slow yeah. But ng+ playthroughs? That's when you take revenge and slaughter everything. I'm heavily biased though because I'm a souls veteran lol.
-
In Dark Souls you have to think a bit about how to take on some bosses. In Doom, no think, only GUN.
