Just to be clear, my intention is not to discuss how OP other classes are compared to Titans. I also don't intend on arguing with people about other classes. I only know Titan because that's what I chose and that's what I have been playing since D1.
I would like Bungie to know that Titans are sick of being a melee-only class. It's cool to have some melee builds, but just like how Hunters and Warlocks have varying aspects/exotics that change their playstyle, I would like that for Titan as well, because frankly Titan usually feels like an afterthought in some way or another.
I know there are changes already happening that are making Titans feel less of a melee-based class, and I love them already: the Hazardous exotic for Rocket builds, and the Unbreakable aspect for Tankier builds are a few great examples. I can't wait to see what else Bungie will come up for this amazing game.
I'm attaching Aztecross' recent video because there are A LOT of Titans who feel the same in his comment section. I just hope it isn't too late to make the change because I love this game a lot, I just wish I had an infinite amount of time to play more.

Titans don’t want to be melee based, warlocks don’t want to be rift bots, hunters want more supportive abilities. At this point, the game would be better off if we could just merge all classes together into one. We could make the ultimate guardian and everyone will no longer be able to talk smack about other classes.

All I want for Striker Titan is a 3rd super option, where we get D1 Fist of Havoc back, dealing higher damage than thundercrash since it can't really fly, with Death From Above as option AND shockwave, like you could have with the Helmet of Inmost Light. Big AoE, big damage, big utility for frontal assault with the shockwave, very fast cast time.

Edited by KalelKryptonian: 6/25/2024 10:24:29 PMYou know what's wrong with titans come final shape in my opinion. Besides lack of the powers a titan suposed to have its also a combination of lack of variety and versatility that the other 2 have. I've played all 3 on prasmatic and I feel, warlock has the versatility good for single players in pve. Hunters have a share of versatility and the most power dps in the game main choice for raid as we have seen. Titans have had nothing but melee supers thought it's creation and now since final shape and prasmatic it just isn't cutting it, it's weak and boring
-
The tittle is ironic to me because both my other classes right now are melee focused builds (my hunter had a backup invisibility build). But I agree as of right now my Titan doesn’t have an identity because I’m not sure how or what to use them: My Titan and warlock are practically identical in builds - 3 melee ads clearer & my hunter is infinite dodge punch strand clone
-
Hot Take:
Titans are not weak, titans are just too used to broken/free stuff like banner and bonk. anything that requires more than one button to press is too complex for them.
-
I'd prefer they quit punishing melee builds with stomps, or whatever else happens if you get close to bosses. I made my titan knowing it was melee centralized.

Ehhh… it’s the lack of creativity towards Titans over the last three expansions is what has bugged me the most. Strand Titan was the most uncreative of the 3 (not saying it wasn’t strong enough after BoW dropped)… but it was uncreative and not innovative at all. The other thing that’s bothered me is how they haven’t adjusted things like Shield Throw to be more useful in practice… and how they are really afraid to give Titans an ability loop that can rival Hunters or Warlocks. The one exotic that did (HoiL) was nerfed to the point where in practice it doesn’t do that much because the cooldowns of Titan abilities are so long there is no “loop”… just deciding when to use something and then waiting for abilities to cooldown to try and combo again. The frenzied blade 2.5 minute base cooldown on Prismatic is a prime example of that.

Even Zavala went from running Bubble Sentinel to Behemoth. No Titan is safe from being forced into punching things.
-
Im good with punching and melee.. Its the lack of survivability and ability to provide better team support.
-
Please keep forcing titans into forced melee
-
I like how we get a new void aspect that should be tied to shield throw melee but instead it’s tied to the grenade. I guess we’re going to get an exotic for it because nobody is using that ether. They have no idea how to tune titans yet hunters got that clone strand that should have been tied to the threadling grenade and yet it’s tied to the dodge. Sick of being an afterthought and we get watered down aspects Didn’t even get our class stasis aspect. They turned it into an exotic and what we got, nobody wanted or used so they force it on us again in prismatic Their titan team sucks
-
Titans just aren't allowed to be good at something. Melee, buffing, survivability, damage; Titans being good at any of those might mean a Hunter feels threatened and cries to daddy Bungie to nerf us again. Remember when they "nerfed" Shatterdive but it was actually a buff and the nerf was to stasis crystal explosions which - to nobody's surprise - hurt Titans way more than Hunters.
-
Edited by Obi-Juan: 6/25/2024 2:41:10 AMI got tired of warlock and guess what I did, I switched to Hunter. Crazy concept right?? If you don't like the basis of a class, you have 2 other options.
-
Titans should be naturally Tankier with powers that draw aggro and keep them alive while being the center of attention.
-
Imo, Titan being the melee class is fine. The bigger problem is that it needs to have more viability in that role at all levels.
-
I'm Titan Main and I feel your pain.
-
Titans were crying on the forums when the exotic chest combined with command aspect was allowing two tail fox to fire all rockets without reloading. O that's right. They didn't know that because they to busy complaining on the forums.
-
One: Yes, the other comments mentioning how broken Titans are used to being is funny when they cry. Two: throwing Hammer, Throwing Shield, Thunderclap. Yes, alot of Titan is melee, but you have other options. That said, Titans are supposed to be the tanking hulks that break your fist with their face as they break your face with their fist. It's the class style. If you don't like it, find another class.
-
Pretty sure we lost our identity at the launch of destiny 2. The titan is supposed to be a tank/ wall and we haven’t had that in a while. Im tired of the whole melee class in general. Titans have struggled for so long because we quite literally dont have an identity outside melee.
-
I think the main reason for having Titan be a melee focused class is for placement reasons. They want them to be at the vanguard. At the front of the team, closest to the enemy. As a hunter I am up in the middle of an encounter jumping around them and trying to make angles so I don't have as much room for error when aiming (aiming down is better for knives than aiming from the same height, moving into your knives means you have to drag the mouse less distance to get all three knife trick knives on head). So with me being up in the middle, I look like a very tasty target. But if Titan is there with me and just OHKOing everything that enters their reach, I'm able to run in and out to get my shanks. That said, I understand why titans want more options. But why not just play Warlock if you want to be a range-focused build? What would Titan do differently?
-
Yet Bungie still went with Berserker Crab Titan then the Strand Rambo Machine Gun super lol 😂🤦
-
As a Tian main and someone who has been playing since 2014, I do agree Titans often feel like after-thoughts or no-thoughts when it comes to improving on the characters abilities. The basic role we have is "Titan Smash". But that shouldn't be the only one and it shouldn't be weak. When Stasis came out, I remember being very disappointed because it was the same mechanic we've always had, just with a different affect. It would be nice to have different mechanics or variations on them mixed in there. I saw that attempt with Strand. Yeah, again, we were kind of smashing, but it was more slashing and we had the banner to help with health which was really nice since we are right there in the thick of it. That is how it should be. Give us better health regen while right there in the midst of a bunch of enemies. But then it got nerfed and I was suddenly constantly dying while trying to do what I'm supposed to be doing. I also find that whenever I am using a subclass like Stasis or Strand the berserker style super doesn't work very well in how it handles. I want to take out enemies in front of me. I point the joystick in the direction I want to go to attack, but the mechanic has me all over the place, regardless of where I am trying to direct my character. And that gets frustrating and also wastes the super. So I would like to see that fixed and improved on. Solar is my main and favorite subclass. And I love my tiny bonk hammer. I still have more stuff to do with Final Shape so I'm not sure if it opens up with Prismatic but I haven't seen it yet. So I don't know if using Solar with Prismatic gives us our bonk hammer or not. But I do miss not having it while using Prismatic because it offered a ranged attack. A way I always thought Bungie could improve there is by giving Titan's the ability to recall it rather than having to chase it down before it disappears. Kind of the way Kratos does with his axe in GoW. I'd also like to see improvements made on the barricade. Barricade really doesn't seem to do a hell of a lot. Enemies easily go through it and attack and, only after attacking us, do they get stunned and back away. They can also easily go over it or around it rendering it pretty useless in that regard, IMO. Is it useful overall? Sort of. It has potential. But it really feels like it needs to be improved on in strength or deterrence to really feel like it's doing what it should be doing. Right now it feels like it's more of a minor inconvenience to enemies than an actual barricade to defend from. Now, for an idea I'd like to see maybe that Bungie could do for Titans - and it's all cause I love Solar and it's my main subclass - But why not make Solar Titans ignite? Like a rage mechanic. Like the fury builds and we clench our fist and that ignites the flame that consumes our bodies and we go charging in like a human torch and punch/scald enemies before our Light explodes from us in a burst of damaging energy that's like a scorching shockwave all around us leaving enemies on fire, taking damage? I'm not saying it's perfect, but I think it would be fun to have something like that. I know there are people on here who think: Eh, play a different class, or get better stuff, or change your loadouts. I like being a Titan. It's the class that feels right to play. I have played the other classes. Not my favorite. Love watching them play and the stuff they have, but it's not me. I do my best to get better stuff and improve. Can't always do everything, though and it's not always about getting better stuff as it is having abilities that feel more suited to the character and using the things that I love and are fun. As for my loadouts I have changed them many times. And, usually what happens is, someone finds an AMAZING loadout that works great for Titans. So I use it. And then people complain that Titans are being Titans and demand nerfs, so we get nerfed. Now the build doesn't work well anymore and do what it's supposed to with that character. I get nova bombed to oblivion. I get sliced and diced to nothing but speedy, invisible Hunters. And while I get mad about it, cause I died, I don't hate on the build or say: NERF IT! cause that's what they are. That is their class and build. They are supposed to be that way. Titans are supposed to be strong and nearly unstoppable when coming at you. Cayde-6 says it best in D1. You don't stop a Strikers fist. Only thing you can do is be somewhere else when it lands. - I have been shot out of my super on numerous occasions belying that quote. On all subclasses. Sometimes one-shot. It shouldn't be that way. Not for any class. Rambled more than enough. I'm sure some people will complain about whatever I said in one way or another. Whatever. I just wanted to offer up my own observations from playing along with some ideas. Hopefully the new improvements Bungie is working on end up being good.

It's 2024 and, I guess, people don't grasp the idea of what a Hunter, Warlock and Titan roles are?
-
So you chose the melee class but now you don't like it. Choose a Hunter if you want to shoot a bunch of a Warlock if you want to run more abilities. Titans have been melee oriented since the very first day of D1 when Strikers had OHK shoulder charge and void overshield bonk on bubble Titan. Of course Titans also have quick weapon swaps and extra weapon damage, but you just want to be easy mode I guess.

the entire dlc is trash in my opinion. i would normally play all three classes but i’m taking a pass on that. there is no way i’m grinding this trash dlc. as for the video, aztecross changed when he got those very distracting veneers. is it me!? am i the only one that noticed he got those horse teeth and his attitude changed!? it’s strange. he used to be down to earth but unsubbed after the whole pc is easy/elite debate a year or two ago.
