We never got to see how the collapse went down.
Witness had memory of it and it would've been sick to see it manifested as a zone in the Pale Heart. Massive missed opportunity. Even just a flashback vision upon touching a Dissenter Statue would've sufficed.
I wanted to see the Pyramids arrive and the bleakness and despair Humanity felt as darkness beasts under Nezarecs control ran wild across the Earth's surface as Witness gave some sort of salvation has arrived speech.

1 ReplyActually, the internet security company Cloudstrike was still around when the Traveler was here, and they put out another faulty software update that brought everything down, but permanently this time. All the stories that the aliens who arrived after the collapse were actually to blame was just fingerpointing from the Cloudstrike executives to avoid being sued by pinning the blame on someone else.
