Bungie,
Here I am with the Eight Edition to this request.
My brother asks me to help out with the 34 on Sunday. I go to log in and get Caterpillar three times, then Disconnected from Xbox Live. I go to log on, get to my character, set destination for the Reef, punch it and get Caterpillar. I log on, do my thing and join up in the 34. I go to run out and get Caterpillar. I join back, get to round three (where I the reconnect screen and spawn in dead. We beat round three, go to the airlock where I get booted. Caterpillar. I go to log on and it happens two more times, then I get disconnected. I reconnect to Xbox Live, get back in to party and my brother, dejected at this point, says 'we don't have to do this.' To which I reply 'we got this.' I invite a friend, who joins me after I get two more Caterpillar codes. We land and beat the damn thing. This was on the 360. My friend that joined had to leave and my brother was fed up with the whole process, so he called it a night. I switched to the One, which I have Destiny for, and play without issue. Not a single error code. Being that one of our two-man team was about to quit and I was barely able to maintain connection, I feel this qualifies for another request for a checkpoint.
Again, here is my recommendation: make it so you get a checkpoint 'boon' at the beginning of each round. Character specific, not shareable with a fire-team. If everyone in the team has the check point, then everyone can participate (up to three players, obviously).
Post statement: I hit the 10,000 character mark and my original post could not be 'truncated.' The original seven iterations can be found in the comment section or at this link: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/138813824/0/0/1

Seventh Post [06/29/2015] [The one with three Baboons and a Mustela]
Bungie, Here I am with the seventh edition of this post. The error codes that happen during Prison of Elders only seem to be getting worse. I was booted three times during the 34 run a couple days ago. Beat rounds 1-3 without a problem. Get to round four and my screen goes black, Contacting Destiny Servers appears at the bottom of my screen with Baboon as the error code. This message flashes three or four times and then I get booted due to Weasel. I have to sign out of live, sign in, log on to Destiny, get booted by Caterpillar, lose connection, sign out, sign on, log in, wait... wait... wait... verifying content... Select character and join party, talk my friends in to continuing and pick back up. We end up Urrox, get him to a sliver of health (if he had a 1/16" of health, I would be surprised) when the Thrall stopped moving and my friends seemingly charged the center of the map, as if they were going to melee him for the rest of the DPS. I scope in with Black Hammer and drop 6 rounds in to Urrox's dome and nothing. I sit my character down and wait for it to happen. Baboon, Baboon, Baboon... Weasel. Got kicked and they killed the boss quite literally two seconds later. Then I repeat the sign out, sign in, log on, log off, sign out, sign in... It's about as tiresome to read it as it is to live it. I get back in to the party and my friends are patrolling Venus. "Man, that sucks. Right at the boss" they say. No checkpoint and down a friend, I moved to solo (one friend logged off and the other offered to help, but I didn't want to make him help, not on the 34). Ended on the third round before seeking out help on DestinyLFG.com. No check point, with randoms that acted as bullet sponges as I did all the work. Thanks for that.
Sixth Post [06/25/2015] [The one about servers and the third man... rather, lack thereof]
Bungie, Last night me and two friends decided to take on Skolas. Well, two of us started it and got to the Pilot Servitor before a third joined us. Everything ran smooth at the beginning of the boss encounter and then one of our teammates ends up with a black screen and disappears, waiting for the recovery system to take affect. Two of us down the Servitor and our friend rejoins after restarting his router. We go on to Skolas, get to the mines and he disappears, again. My other friend dies in transit to the mine and I run to dismantle (it was the last one). I get poisoned. And our other friend returns to the game, but can't get out of the door. I dismantle the mine and proceed to die to poison as I could not revive my downed teammate and our other teammate was locked behind a door. We restart. Now our friend can't even stay in the game and is booted immediately. We die and get him back in. Start it up and same thing happens; we get to mines and he disappears. We quit. Guess what? No checkpoint, so we get to do it all over again.
Fifth Post [06/20/2015] [The one about Cloudberry and Bird
Bungie, Me and my buddy decided to take on the 34. I had a cipher that needed points for boss kills and he was bored. We get to Valus Trau'ug and my buddy starts lagging, bad. We drop out of part and go to fireteam chat. He disappears and comes back (your new recovery feature worked!!!). Then it happens again... and again, only this time I get kicked due to bird. I go to join up on him and actually succeed... (well, that's an over statement), while in transit, I get another black screen and get kicked back to orbit due to cloudberry. Not cool.
Fourth Post [06/12/2015] [caterpillar at loot box]
Bungie, Called it a night on the 35 when two of my buddies had to get to bed. We wiped four times at the boss after nearly killing him, twice. Oh well, that's why we have the weekend. I decided to give the 28 a go to do something easy. I did; me and two randoms rushed right through. Got to the treasure room, opened the first chest and... [black screen] CATERPILLAR... You serious?
Third Post [06/11/2015] [The one with all: errors and giving up]
Bungie, Following up with more stories of being booted and quitting out of fatigue. On reset, me and two buddies went through the 34, beat it and got to the loot chest when GoldenLotus8 left party, then, a player left your fireteam. He missed out on his Etheric Light and Armor Core. We restarted and ran it again to help him. Now we're playing arenas in duplicates as our friends get kicked. That same night, we started up the 35 and get through to round 5 when StoopidSnipez left party. Then, a player left your fireteam... He wasn't able to get back on. We were able to get another friend in and eventually beat it. Our friend that got kicked was able to log back on about 10 minutes later. Last night we started the 35 and got to Skolas. It was about 1AM and we thought we'd get it done quick. Well, we were wrong. Too fatigued to get our timing right, and after getting Skolas to a 1/4" of health and dying to captains blindsiding us for the third time, we gave up. Getting to Skolas isn't difficult, but giving up an hour after attempting just to stare down the same thing... Not fun.
Second Post [06/01/2015] [the one where our entire team got kicked]
Bungie, I was just playing the Forever Eater at Qodron and my ENTIRE TEAM got Anteater... We all got kicked. Just took out the eye and started dealing DPS at the boss. This is the second time my team has been kicked at the boss. Not having a checkpoint is really becoming a thorn in my side... Yeah, thorn. Nerf the errors, buff your servers and add checkpoints. Please fix.
Original Post: [05/28/2015] [the one we gave up on]
Bungie, I've seen similar posts like this permeating the forums and thought 'man, what noobs.' Last night I spent two hours on Qodron. After figuring out we needed to kill this silver vex we trucked on, but died when Qodron was at 1/8" health. We gave it a couple more attempts then gave up. I was with two 33's, so it wasn't that big of a surprise that we didn't make it. I eagerly signed on, tonight, anticipating that I would beat the 34, forgetting there wasn't a checkpoint, then realized I'd have to run through the whole thing with no guarantee of success and my friends basically said '... What about the Nightfall?' To which I replied 'to hell with the nightfall, noobs... yeah, you're right.'. It's 10PM my time and I don't feel like going through that pain of dying to a stupid supression field. I usually stay up until 2 playing, but tonight I logged off (quite literally for the first time since release). I don't expect that I will pick up my controller again until Saturday, when I will have enough time to deal with You can see my stats, I've raided a ton and have been very successful. I almost have two times the gameplay in raids than all other activities and have never given up. Raids have checkpoints which make it easy to quit out on a losing run and call it a night. Prison of Elders does not. Prison of Elders feels more tedious and pressured as you don't want to quit, but can't stand to stay. Wipe after wipe, then you decide to hell with it and give up out of fatigue and frustration. Then, the next day, the wound is reopened and salt poured in on the realization that there is no checkpoint. Then the deflation. I am not asking to make the game easier, just that you add a checkpoint for the final boss, if not at each round. I've seen it suggested that all players in the fireteam must have the same checkpoint (unlike the raids), which makes sense to me. This would mean that me and my two friends (same goes for anyone else this applies to) would be able pick up where we left off, but would not be able to start the activity with a new person that didn't already have the checkpoint. Say two people have a round 6 save and one has a round 5 save, their GT would blink and a notice would display: 'not all players have the proper checkpoint for this activity.' Anyway, that's my opinion on the matter.
Yes please! For the love of Destiny, we need checkpoints in POE.
-
Yes add check points
-
Think about it bro if we had check points then first 4 round will be meaningless to play because only on round 5 is where u get loot and then everybody and their mother will just sit there only doing cp helping people for ratings just hoy it was with crota/vault #justsaying

I have played the first mission of house of wolfs 8 times per character to be kicked at the end and all of the missions following, my warlock has not done mission 1 on lvl 26. I have since given up on HOW content and have not completed it on a single character so yes f@#%n pleas bunge give us PVE check points and fix your God dam bugs. I don't get booted at the same spot at the end of the mission for any of your previous dam overpriced & lacking content so fix your dam shit I've payed for at-least that. Thank you...

I am a 34 hunter looking to do skolas cp (I have got to round 4 35) I you want to help me my gt is ^
-
yes to checkpoints of some kind...
-
Checkpoints please bungie. Come on.
-
Plus one! Prison of Elders can feel extremely rewarding when you finally beat that difficult round but having no checkpoints feels disjointed. I was playing till 2am last night on the final boss (34) but eventually had to call it a night. Having to go through the whole lot again feels like a kick in the nuts. Please bring in checkpoints.

Kicked to orbit on round 4.. officially sick of this bs. We pay (out the ass) for what? great content? a lot of content? Good connection to servers? Checkpoints in poe? Lol... this game is becoming a joke totaling nearly 150$ that I've spent on this game and you surely aren't getting your money's worth. not my opinion. fact.

Hi, firstly just want to say I love the game and have spent a lot of time on it..... Probably more than my wife and kids would like hehe. Which is why the suggestion I have is very important to me and even a lot of the people I play with. The issue I have is mainly with the 35 and on some occasions the 34 Prison Of Elders (POE). Last night was the first time I got to finish a 35 and that was because my friends were just unable to stay in the game, after a good solid 5hrs Skolas was finally dead and the 3 people that finished it were not the same 3 that started it..... For those poor souls that's hours of their life they will never get back and received absolutly nothing in return. I struggle to understand why there is no checkpointing in this game mode. With most runs I see now through any of the raids on any difficulty not exceeding an hour (and that's being generous, the Crota run is super quick now and we treat it more like a strike) and yet we can checkpoint after every battle and we have a fire team of 6. I do understand that because the nature of the loot chests at the end of POE, if there was a checkpoint system the chests could be exploited but I'm sure with the great minds you have at Bungie you could find a work around. Maybe after getting the chest on a specific character you have to return to the first round to reset the chest. Anyway I hope this doesn't fall on deaf ears as I really enjoy the new game modes but REAL life outside of a video game should and will always take priority. And I don't think you should encourage anything different.

Bump for the fourth edition.
-
Bump for checkpoint boon. Great solution.
-
Just kicked all 3 of us in my Fireteam in to orbit during Round 5 too. This is ridiculous.
-
Bump. Need some checkpoints.
-
Bump. Still upset about this.
-
He'll yea and you should be able to get that new light from level 32 so u can level up to light level 34 customers being a 33 trying to run a level 34 will not do
-
Bump. Just got kicked... AGAIN.

Completely agree. There are so many reasons this is needed and CAN be done well and fairly. Perhaps some kind of key that gets awarded after clearing each round. All 3 players need to have the key to open the door, and open the door at the same time. Might get a little annoying with multiple wipes, but I'd rather sacrifice holding down a button for a door each round in order to have checkpoints. The keys would also mean that someone who has already run through it could go back and help out other players, but not skip them straight to the final boss. Trials of Osiris keeps track of your wins and losses, why not keep track of doors cleared? Might not even need the key idea and the checkpoint is automatically whatever the least common denominator is between the three players. GT wouldn't have to block or warn anything, just start it up and open whatever door is appropriate for the team. Finally, this would also prevent people from LFG for only the final boss, which is probably what bungie was trying to avoid in the first place by not implementing checkpoints. If you don't clear the doors, then you can't jump in with your buddies after they clear it and boot their poor innocent random helper.

Yes, please!

Totally agree folks, poe can take longer than a raid spesh crota and when u lfg n grind for hours get to boss struggle n then the fire team leader boots you for a mate its a joke! Or disconnects. I think the lvl 34 and 35 should have check points but only after round 4 or even just the boss? I tried to carry through 2 33s last night got to the gatelord qodron or whatever hes called who I had beat np with 2 other 34s but the 33s they got sick of it after an hour and gave up, was already pretty late and i could not be bothered continuing on.... Having to start again is a ball ache!

They should definitely add a checkpoint to each round, but at the very least to rounds 4 and 5. Any activity that can take 3+ hours should have checkpoints because most people can't play more than 3 hours a night.
