Little thought on the grind to Redrix Claymore

Before this post gets downvoted, I do want to say I'm totally behind the idea of grinding for the weapon in pvp as I have heard quote a lot people across forums and subreddits and clan mates talking about how pvp did not have anything worth grinding for. What I can't get behind is how you can go back in progress. Nightfall reward weapons and raid rewards are good as that is something for pve players to be proud of upon obtaining them. However you could attempt it hundreds of times and all you need is just that one successful run with luck on your side to obtain it. But for pve weapon rewards, you could really love the game, spend 10 hours playing it each day and yet still be further and further away from it. Not to mention how you don't earn valor point playing competitive. I am no great player, and I do look online lfg pages for fireteams however everyone is looking for 1.5KD+, and being a mainly pve player I do not have impressive pvp stats but I would still like to be able to obtain this gun. While I have no problem having a ladder system for diehard pvp players for them to compare their ranks with other players, similar to pve players comparing raid clear times and nightfall scores, the current ladder system is currently fundamentally flawed. There are no placements, which is quite important for a ladder system to place players with similar skills, so players in glory rank 0 could still have drastically different skill gaps as they simply have not played competitive enough. And even then I have been frequently matched with players who are more than a thousands points above me. Another problem with the ladder system is the rewards. Ladder systems in majority of the competitive games are pure cosmetics, yet in this game it would actually change how the game plays out, whether an advantage nor disadvantage, simply due to the weapons you have access to, e.g imminent storm, redrix claymore, etc. And in a game where gear gap > skill gap, the advantage could be significant. I have a few suggestions for a change which might be welcomed by some and disagreed by some. 1. Have our rankings based on how well we performed, but that is a tricky area as a lot competitive games still can not grasp that balance. 2. Add in placements, that way our glory points would be much closer to our ceiling as two thousand points to get to rank 3 is a steep grind, it's similar to grinding from bronze to gold or plat in some other competitive games. 3. Swap the rewards a round a bit, have the weapon rewards be valor rank rewards and cosmetics be glory rewards, but they would need to be something players would be more proud of instead of subtle ornaments. Suggestions would be auras or, well, more obvious ornaments so players could recognise it at first glace. Before people start saying "git gud", I really am, but human have limitations and I no longer have the reflexes and coordinations I once had.
